As she traced lines on his trimmed chest, she could not help but smile as she reminisced on the day's events. She could not believe she was laying here with him. with Finn. with her Finn. She thought about all things he had told her today and about the chemistry they had while singing their duet, but of all these things, three words stuck in her head.
We are endgame.
She did not want to get attached to the words, but as they replayed in her head, she could not help it. She needed to leave. The longer she stayed here, in his arms, the harder it would be for her to leave. She slowly inched her way out of his arms and out of the hotel room bed. She picked up her dress and slid it back on.
As she gathered the rest of her things, she looked at him and felt a pang of guilt for leaving him without saying goodbye, but she felt even worse when she realized that she just cheated on her boyfriend, Brody. She leaned down and kissed his cheek before walking out of the room. She felt her eyes watering, and before she knew it, she was sobbing in the hotel hallway.
She needed to go home to New York. Her eyes began to water again as she remembered a time when her home was in Finn's arms. She let out silent tears as she looked out the airplane window.
Goodbye, Ohio. Goodbye, Lima. Goodbye, McKinley. Goodbye, dad and daddy. Goodbye, Finn.
