I know it's short. I wrote this in my notebook after one of my midterms, and I really wasn't planning on uploading it, but why not...
One-Shot. I don't own anything.
I was only eight years old, watching from my bedroom window. My house never got any visitors. Even in this busy city, my street was never full. No one ever dropped by.
I was watching the pigeons. I loved birds because they were the only visitors we ever got. This lonely street. But then , there was a man there, in the street. He must have been in his thirties. I didn't notice him walk up, but he was there, and he must have gotten there somehow. He looked around slowly, then I saw his lips moving. Who was he talking to?
I pushed open the window. I wasn't shy, maybe I could make a new friend.
"HI!" I yelled out the window. He looked hopeful for a second, then saw me and looked a little disappointed.
"Hello," he yelled back, with a little less enthusiasm than I'd had. He had a funny accent.
"WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" I yelled at him.
"Rory," he said, still looking around, but more quickly, as if he expected something to jump out at him. "Have you seen anything? Around here?"
"LIKE WHAT?"
"Just… anything strange?"
I thought about it for a moment. "JUST YOU," I replied.
"Oh, okay then," he said, looking slightly relieved, but still a little worried.
Then there was a girl, a lady, with red hair. I didn't see her walk over either, but she was there, in the street, with my new grown-up friend Rory. She looked around wildly, and I could tell she was crying, hard. When she saw Rory, she ran at him and hugged him.
He hadn't seen her and he wasn't prepared. He looked shocked for a moment, but then happy. Really happy. "Amy. Amy," he said, hugging her back, holding onto her like it was the only time he would ever get to.
Then, they started kissing.
"EEEEEEWWWWW!" I screamed. The girl, noticing me for the first time, looked up and laughed, tears still in her eyes. Rory was crying, too, now, and he laughed too.
"Let's go," he said to her, and waved at me.
"BYE!" I yelled at them as they walked towards the next block.
"BYE!" The girl yelled back at me. She had a funny accent too.
