Chapter 1 – Metal Awakens

It was a dark, eerie, mysterious atmosphere. Everything was quiet. All there was left was a blue, green-eyed robot sitting on the lonely planet, slowly waking up.

What happened? Metal Sonic thought to himself.

As he slowly got up, he started to get a flashback of what had happened the week before.

Metal Sonic had got into a fight with Sonic and company, and somehow, they ended up on this small, dark planet. Tails had captured 2 of the 3 Chaos Emeralds which they had brought with them, and they quickly fled, using the emerald's power to transport back to Earth.

The green emerald which they had lost, did not get sucked in, but instead, it shone across the planet. Metal Sonic was on the verge of collapsing into pieces. He was practically lying on the planet. When he was about to give up, he took hold of the green emerald, and it knocked him out.

Little did he know that the power of the green emerald was taking over the remains of his unconscious body. His eyes turned into a dark, green colour, and somehow the battery which Eggman had stored in him, so that he would be nothing but evil had exploded, due to the sudden boost of positive energy that the emerald possessed. This battery flew on the floor, and as the power of the emerald was still shining through, the battery was replaced with positive energy inside the robot.

As Metal Sonic remembered everything that happened, he struggled to remember why he wanted to go on with the fight in the first place. He struggled to remember why he even wanted to become rivals with Sonic.

In a way, he wanted to just give up and try to get on the good side. I'm sure they'll forgive me if I manage to get them to believe that I have changed, Metal Sonic said to himself.

I guess you could say that the robot was sick of everyone hating him, no one to support him, no one trusted him, and most importantly, he didn't have a single friend for support or help.

Even the meanest villain in the universe deserved one. Metal Sonic worked out the fact that the only way that would happen, was to change his personality. He would never find out that the emerald had placed a permanent spell in his body.

As he wandered around the planet, he found his old batteries. This made the whole thing a whole lot easier, he thought. If he could show the battery which Eggman had programmed in him, he could show proof to Sonic and his friends that he isn't evil anymore.

Man, being a part of Sonic's gang would be such an honour. I just wish we didn't have such a huge rivalry in the past. The robot knew how stubborn Sonic was, so it would definitely be one huge task to get him on his side.

Hey, if it doesn't work, at least I tried.

He grabbed the battery and the emerald, which was still glowing. It was time to leave. He pointed the emerald to the sky, a huge, white portal suddenly opened up.

He flew into it.

It was time for him to become a good guy.

Which was easier said than done.

Suddenly, a blue comet came crashing down in Green Hill Zone.

Wow, I am so excited to see how this story turns out. I have a feeling of determination to finish this story.
