She stood by the sea as the wave lapped at Elise's heels. It chilled her right to the bone.
Soon she made her way to the water but the water did not let her sink, her dress catching the nightly draft as her feet glided on the waves.
As she walked, there was no one around her, no land, no ships, stars nor moon but she did not wane.
In the sky was a lone puffin, she let it rest on her arm and smooth its feathers of snow.
It soon took off to the distance like an albatross to lead her in near darkness. It soon settled on the shoulder of a white haired young man, his eyes a deep violet.
He sent her a smile and lent his hand for her to hold, awaiting her company.
Elise smiled, reaching out to hold it, a warmth spreading her heart.
The boy gathered from the water they stood upon, it froze in his hand as he blew it to the sky. A thousand snowflakes became a thousand stars before them, lighting wayward sailors in their voyages.
Elise almost wanted to weep from his gift; he in turn held her and gave a loving kiss.
Of Ice and Light, became a beautiful sea of diamonds.
