He had been walking for ninety minutes now. The words his wife had told him earlier still haunted him, "He hugged me and then he kissed me."

"The bastard," Michael thought. He loved Claudia Joy more than life itself. She was his other half, his better half! As a two star general in the army, you would think he wouldn't feel threatened. But yet something made him want to beat the living crap out of Grant Chandler. He and Claudia Joy had been through so much together and no one, especially that creep, was going to steal his girl, his baby. Somehow this walk had led him to the Charleston law firm and Grant's office.

"I know what you did," said Michael causing Grant to look up, "You took advantage of my wife in a vulnerable situation. And unlike her, I know you would do it again in a heartbeat. So if you do it again, I'll be here waiting for you. And that's not a threat it's a fact." And with that Michael left.

Claudia Joy was sitting on the porch when Michael pulled into the driveway. She had been crying he could tell, but other than that, she was as beautiful as she always was. Even after twenty-one years of marriage, his heart still skipped a beat when he laid eyes on her. She was now standing in front of him. His next admission shocked even himself.

"I'm glad you told me."

"Yeah?" she asked. Michael nodded, "Are we okay?"

"Of course we are. You're my best friend, my baby, my everything," thought Michael, "Always."

Claudia Joy let out a huge sigh of relief, "I love you."

It didn't take long for Michael to respond, "I love you too." They both embraced and let their lips meet another moment of many.

"You're here. You're mine. And that's all that matters, thought Michael as they walked into their home.

The End!
