Ahsoka's Poem
When the Lights Go Out (…Remember Me)
Synopsis: In an alternate version of the events of "The Wrong Jedi," Ahsoka is sentenced to death for the bombing of the Jedi Temple and the killing of both innocent civilians, Jedi and clones alike. She then waits in her cell for her final hour to arrive, deciding to write a short poem to help her accept her fate and say goodbye to those who she cared about, as a knock comes on the door and her final journey begins.
When the lights go out, I feel no pain.
For in my final moments, I feel alive again.
I pace my cell, on a floor so cold.
My eyes, they flutter and my legs feel old.
A knock, a chime, a brigade to escort.
A guide to take me to a room in a fort.
My heart beats quickly, the tears begin to roll.
My life cut short, when the evening bells toll.
I wonder and whisper, could this be my end?
What lies before me, on a road without a bend.
Be still, they tell me, it will be over soon.
A promise so fragile as deaths door looms.
Will I be missed and mourned?
The question hangs so heavy.
On a heart now scarred and broken.
By those who stood at the ready.
In time I accept, for fate has a plan.
Perhaps I'll find peace, if indeed I can.
One last signal and the curtains close.
A final tear, even it has froze.
An eternity of silence, until awakened again.
It may never happen, but I will wait until then.
So goodbye my friends, I hope I leave you well.
For today I go forward, into what, I cannot tell…
Please… Remember me…

Author's Notes: Thanks for reading guys.
I first got the idea for this poem while reading AhsokaNerds one-shot 'The Time Left to Leave,' which inspired me to write a short letter of goodbye from Ahsoka that eventually turned into a poem instead.
I hope you all like it and please feel free to leave a review of your thoughts. I'm not really a practiced poet so to speak, but hopefully this little attempt was an ok first try.
Thanks again!
