Here's another one, and this one's less angsty. Enjoy!

Oh, and Disclaimer;

I don't own Doctor Who or any of its characters.

Rose Tyler stood on the beach, her jumper wrapped around her in the cold wind. She had been standing there for a long time. How long? She didn't know. The sun was a blaze of light setting on the horizon, and they water reflected the light as it crashed against the rocks. It was a beautiful evening, but she was not in the mood for beauty.

She turned slowly away from the water, staring at one fixed point in the sand. She would always remember that place. She could never forget the last place she had seen him.

She sighed. Why did she do this? She asked herself. Every chance she got she drove down here, and for what? He had said it himself, there was no way for her to see him again. It just helped her feel closer to him, in a way. And there was always hope….

She turned back to the sea and sank down. She sat in the sand, her arms holding her knees to her chest. Tears were streaming steadily, silently down her cheeks. She imagined she must be almost out of tears by now. Who was she kidding? He would never come back. Even if he wanted to. She had told him she loved him, all those weeks ago, and he had never gotten the chance to respond. She thought she knew what he had been saying, but she wished she could hear it from him. Oh god, just to hear his voice. What would he have told her? Would it really have mattered? She buried her face in her arms and cried, like she had done so many times before.

She didn't hear the familiar wheezing and whirring of a machine, and she didn't hear the footsteps in the sand. She was too absorbed in her own thoughts. She was going through the same cycle of them in her mind. If she could only have heard those three words…

She started when she felt arms wrap around her waist. She looked down. Familiar brown coat, and familiar breath on the top of her head.

"Rose Tyler," The Doctor said, "I love you."
