Author's Notes: I am probably the only person that wants to see Axl Heck and Weird Ashley having the most awkward - yet fluffiest! - relationship ever seen in the history of television...or in this case, fanfiction! Am I really the only one who ships these two!? No...? Oh well, as always, reviews are appreciated! :-)

Love is complicated.

"Complicated" not as in that punk chick's song about getting angry at her lame boyfriend for always pretending to be someone else around his friends. Being in love is something far more troublesome than having your moody ex-girlfriend singing about your imperfections on MTV.

For Axl Heck, solving equations where you have to use one of those complex formulas featuring the most random letters is easier than finding out what a girl really wants in a relationship. Sometimes he wishes he could be like the Lethal Weapon guy (awesome idea for next year's Halloween! Hutch can be the "I'm too old for this shit" guy) and read girls' minds just like in that stupid chick flick that his mom and dork sister made him watch once.

Being in love sucks!

His first girlfriend, Morgan, dumped him. Even after spending countless hours trying to learn how to say "I love you" in Mandarin (wo ai ni! Take that, Morgan!) she couldn't care less about him. His second girlfriend, Cassidy, was never going to understand how awesome tubing is (C'mon! You go down a river in tubes!). And Devin...well, he and the "Uggo from Idaho" had broken up about an hour ago.

"Axl...?"

His blue eyes, now reddened from all the sweat (not tears! The Ax-man would never cry again over a girl) that was covering his cheeks, immediately shot up at the sound of her voice. Urgh...why her?

Who the hell would walk around the corridors at midnight almost scaring the shit out of him? Weird Ashley, of course. The poofy haired witch was standing right in front of him wearing a pair of pajamas from her favourite TV show...Phineas & Herb...? Why would he care, really? Only seeing the judging face of that blue "duck-dog" (or whatever the heck that thing is) stamped on her sweater was making him uncomfortable.

He tried to use his best annoyed expression to make her leave but it wasn't working out. Ashley just kept looking at him with sad brown eyes. She understood what he was going through. She had felt the same when she got dumped by Fred Fredman during prom night.

Rolling his eyes, Axl opened his arms, and it only took Ashley a couple of seconds to encircle his waist with her arms and let her head fall to his right shoulder. He could sense her smile when he started to caress her wild brown locks.

Weird Ashley really creeped him out sometimes, but Axl knew that she would always be there for him.
