I was watching Wizard Of Oz last night and this popped into my head ;) Hope you all like!
Disclaimer: Although I don't think any of you actually think I do, I don't own Wicked or Wizard of Oz.
"Help!"
A sleeping blonde snuggled deeper into her large comforter.
"Help!"
A frown appeared on the blonde's pretty face.
"HEEELLLPPPP!!!"
A perfectly manicured hand thrashed out to disentangle itself from the intricate next of blanket. Once she freed her hand, Glinda the Good Witch slapped the snooze button on the alarm clock that rested right next to her head on her nightstand.
But instead of stopping the dreadfully annoying sound, the clock's alarm was turned on, sending a startled and suddenly awake Glinda rolling out of bed and onto her floor with a dull 'thud'.
"Ow!"
Glinda was instantly wide awake. Thrashing once again for a moment to free herself from her blanket, the blonde then got to her feet, trotting over to her looking glass to se what had awoken her, a look of unadulterated annoyance set on her elegant face.
Picking her wand up from where it lay, on a table next to the glass, Glinda held it in both hands as she pondered which spell to use. Finally selecting the correct one, the Good Witch murmered the foreign language under her breath, waved her wand slightly, and then peered into the glass to see what in Oz Name had woken her up.
"Dorothy??"
Why in Oz Name was that annoying little girl sleeping, with a lion, in a field of flowers, accompanied by a scarecrow and metal man at -- Glinda glanced over at her antique grandfather clock -- 9:07 in the morning? Sweet Lurline, Glinda on a good day didn't wake up for at least another hour.
"That girl can recruit whoever she wants," Glinda said, irritated at having been woken up early, "But whoever she does should really learn to keep it down and leave me alone. Really, the nerve!" The woman shook her head, glaring at the glass even though she knew nobody would see her.
From the ruckus the silver man was making, Glinda suspected that Dorothy and the lion hadn't chosen to fall asleep, which made her immediately suspect magic -- and Elphaba. The Wicked Witch. The one that was left alive.
Although Glinda wanted to drop everything and use this lead to figure out where her friend was and search again, she knew she couldn't. Not for a long while. This Dorothy matter had to be cleared up first.
So, putting Elphaba in the back of her mind, Glinda began pacing her room. How to help that farm girl. She very well couldn't just fly over and wake her up -- She had just woken up, leaving her hair with a touch of bedhead about it. So she had to think of a more indirect way of helping.
Suddenly an idea came to her. She could help, shut the tin man up, and teach them a lesson at the same time. Walking quickly back to her glass, Glinda the Good closed her eyes, mentally going through the spells learned at Crage Hall.
Selecting the perfect one, she then began chanting the spell, slowly opening her eyes as she did so. After she completed the verbal portion of the two part spell, the blonde, yawning as she did so, moved her wand through the desired motions.
A quick glance in her glass told the woman that Dorothy and her companions were all awake, cold, and continuing their walk -- now dance -- to the Emerald City.
"Now, Glass," Glinda said as she attempted to flatten her bedhead halfheartedly with one hand, "If you choose to disturb me again with that farmgirl, either you wait for a more decent hour or I sell you at the market. Your choice."
And with that, the Good Witch of the North stomped back over to her kind-size bed, picked her comforter up and laid it on the bed, and climbed back in underneath it. Snuggling up into the quickly growing warmth, Glinda was quickly asleep again, and to hell with that Dorothy.
