As soon as the shock of what had just happened subsided, Ruby vaulted over the railing and into the arena, where her sister was surrounded by several armed guards. Activating her semblance, she made it halfway across the arena in a split second. "Yang!" She cried out, getting the blonde's attention.
"Stop!" One of the guards commanded Ruby. But she didn't hear him. And kept running. "I said stop!" He yelled again. She still didn't stop. "If you don't stop I will shoot!" She still didn't and was getting too close for comfort. His HUD told him that she was armed. And he wasn't taking any chances.
Most news channels had already started to cover what had happened with Yang, and were live, letting people know what was going on. When Ruby had jumped into the arena, they all trained their cameras on her.
What happened next was a bigger deal than the initial event.
A fifteen year old girl was shot five times on live television.
Yang, who had been in shock was brought back to Remnant by the sound of a gunshot. Her eyes snapped in the direction of the sound, and saw one of the police officers pointing his gun in Ruby's direction, the recoil pushing the gun up.
Unfortunately for the girl in red, these guards were armed with rounds that could blast through a person's aura.
Ruby had never had her aura broken before, and fell to her knees, crawling now. Another shot hit her shoulder. (If you didn't know, in the real world, if police officers tell you to stop or they'll shoot, and they end up having to shoot. They have to shoot until you stop)
Ruby used her other arm to bring herself to her feet. Now she was angry. While the first blast had only broken her aura, not her skin.
She reached for Crescent Rose. After all, she was just defending herself. The next shot hit the arm that was holding Crescent Rose, making her drop it. The next shot hit her chest. Then stomach. Only then did she fall.
She landed on her back with a thud that could be heard throughout the entire stadium. JNPR, Weiss, Blake, and Qrow were there instantly. Qrow getting there before anyone else.
"What the hell?!" Qrow yelled. "She stopped!"
"No, she didn't." The guard who had fired said.
Qrow looked up at the screen, which played Yang's attack, then Ruby stopping, putting her hands behind her head, getting on her knees and being shot five times.
A team of paramedics rushed in, picking up the young girl, and placing her on a stretcher, trying to stop the bleeding.
Ruby wheezed with each breath, which were hard to bring to her lungs.
As the paramedics left, then Pyrrha noticed Qrow. Before she could ask why he was there, he answered. "She's my niece." He took a large swig of his flask, and turned to Yang, who was still surrounded. "Com'on, Yang." He said.
Yang began to walk out of the circle, but the guards turned their guns on her.
"Not so fast." The commander said. "You're still guilty of excessive violence."
"Yeah," Qrow said. "And I'm a huntsman. I outrank you, asshole."
They all lowered their guns and allowed Yang to walk out. "We're gonna go meet your sister at the hospital." Qrow told her, motioning for her to follow.
"I'll drive." Yang said.
"That's probably a good idea."
