-1The stars shined brightly as the pair sat under the stars, gazing up at them from their spot on the cool sand. The waves crashed lightly on the shore. Roxas, one of the two, smiled at Namine, the other. "Hello again," he said, quietly.
"How long do you think we can see each other?" Namine asked.
"I don't know," Roxas answered truthfully, sadly. He sighed, looking down at the sand. "I wish we had forever together." Namine laughed lightly, but it was a sad kind of laugh. "Me too," she agreed quietly, "but that's impossible, isn't it?" Roxas just shrugged.
"Namine…do we truly exist? I've searched for an answer, thought about it whenever I had a chance. I want to know. As a Nobody, do we truly exist?" Namine looked down.
"I wish I knew, Roxas," she answered, "but I don't have an answer for you." Roxas only sighed again.
"Thanks anyways, Namine." There was silence for a while before Namine spoke up again. "Roxas…do you feel it?"
"Feel what?" Roxas questioned.
"That…emotion? Oh, never mind," she said, and Roxas noted she sounded disappointing. "I guess I'm feeling Kairi's emotions."
"What emotion did you feel, Namine?" Roxas pressed. Namine didn't answer for a while. "Love," she finally answered sadly, looking at the ground. "I was wondering…"
"Wondering…?" Roxas pressed her further, wanting to know her thoughts.
"If perhaps it was me."
"Who would you feel love for if you could, Namine?" Namine smiled. She knew if she could cry she would be now. There was silence for a long time and Roxas waited patiently for Namine to answer, wanting an answer. "Roxas, if I could love…" she closed her eyes, "I would love you." Roxas smiled.
"I feel…oh…I think it would be the same for me," he corrected himself. Saying the word 'feel' wasn't exactly correct when it comes out of a Nobody's mouth. As he had always been told a Nobody doesn't feel.
It made him feel even worse. "Namine, I love you…" Namine frowned.
"But Roxas, you can't love me. You're a Nobody, you don't feel." Roxas sighed. "I'm so sick of hearing that! But I guess you're right," he admitted sadly, "I can't truly give you the love I know you deserve. But if I had a heart, Namine, it would belong to you."
"And mine would be yours, as well."
"One day…one day Namine, I will gain a heart."
"That's impossible, Roxas."
"Nothing is impossible, Namine."
"Roxas, this is different! You are who you are…" A familiar flashing light. Roxas was replaced with Sora. The last emotion that crossed Namine's face was sadness. A flashing light and Namine was replaced with Kairi. "If I had a heart, I would say I love you, Namine."
"If I had a heart, I would say I love you, too, Roxas." Then the Nododies both faded into Sora and Kairi. But Roxas promised himself he would get a heart.
If he could love, he was sure he would love her.
