I'm back from the dead. For any of the few people who read Unknown, Uncharted, just know that I'm going to rewrite it (even though it's only two chapters). I still like the plot, but the story is kind of confusing.

Disclaimer: I do not own Inu Yasha. That's Rumiko Takahashi's job!

The worse type of feeling that should never be forgotten in the bittersweet feeling of unrequited love. It is beautiful, loving someone with all your heart; the feeling of longing and yearning. Yet the process is painful and the feeling of breaking into small pieces at each deep cut searing into your heart is also a frequent emotion. When love is not reciprocated, it does not just disappear.

"You…come here often?"

The boy turned around to face the person who had started talking to him. A familiar face from a life left long ago appeared before him. The way she approached him was almost ghostly. She was as white as a sheet, and shuffled along the sand of the beach, like a mouse. An invisible mask formed over his face, as he held a contemptuous look on his face; an attempt to ward this girl off. "None of your business." He then, turned back around to face the rushing waves of the ocean, the squawk of the seagulls flying aimlessly, and the strong wind attempting to push him back.

His warning seemed to be ineffective, because he heard her chuckle and she sat down beside him, leaning back on her hands as if his cold retort was a warm invitation. "I was just wondering, because you've missed three consecutive days of school. Are you doing okay?" The concern was evident in her voice, and the tone was sincere and genuine. It was something he had not heard in a long time.

His answer was a cold silence.

She put on a bright, nostalgic smile. "You know, we were once good friends. We knew each other's deepest secrets, we were always there for each other…" She turned her head to face him suddenly. "Look, I know it isn't true anymore, and things change, but you will always be on my mind and you are always in my heart." She turned away, a faint blush on her cheeks, her heart beating a little faster than normal.

His reaction was the same as before, and his mask seemed to harden even more. He tilted his head, opting for a far away look on his face. On his face, the only emotion that managed to penetrate his stone look was a slight look of perplexity and confusion. "Don't," he ordered. "Stop. Please, do not continue." He let out a weary sigh. "We were once friends. That is true. It has been three years. We are now eighteen. Soon, we will be parting ways."

This time, the girl was very alarmed. "You…will be going? Where?"

The boy, affronted, asked, "Did you believe I would stay here, in this dead end city when there is the world to explore? Did you think I would stay, because of you?"

With that, he stood up and walked away, leaving a sobbing girl in his wake.
