I don't own "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni." If I did, I'd make a fourth anime season for the PS2 game Matsuri. I'd be happy if they did.
This is a tribute to Hanyuu becoming Oyashiro-sama, and her and her daughter Ouka's thoughts. This will be a two-shot, so don't expect much.
"Do it, Ouka. Kill me...for the sake of the village."
My daughter's eyes cloud up in tears. I know she cannot bear the thought of killing me, her own mother. She protests and cries, not wanting to do so, but deep down, I know she will have done the right thing.
I touch her shoulder gently, getting her attention. Then, I wipe her tears away, smiling sadly.
"I know it's painful," I say, "but you must do as I say. The sins of this village must be cleansed, and to do so, I must be sacrificed at this very shrine and become a god. Do not worry; I will watch and protect you. When I am gone, govern this village wisely, and only inflict curses as a last resort. Do you understand?"
She nods.
"My Ouka," I say, " do you have your weapon ready?"
She nods, holding it high in the air. I lay down in front of the altar and close my eyes, ready for the pain.
"Do it, Ouka. Do it now."
And before I know it, the pain comes. It hurt, but not as much as the thought of leaving the village in sin. It wasn't as painful as knowing that my daughter would be living in this unforgiven village.
And before I know it, I ascend to godhood.
I am Oyashiro-sama.
Yeah, it's short, but it's my theory of how it all happened. I know the PS2 game and the Rei anime did this, but I wanted more emotion. I wanted to bring out how truly reluctant Ouka was.
So review, but flamers will be cursed by Oyashiro-sama.
