I've written several Paily one-shots on tumblr from prompts given to me, and today I realized that I haven't posted any of them on here so I thought why not.
This is from a prompt that read: "that scenario of the mchastings first date but with Paily [sic] and Paige falling into something"
Technically, it wasn't their first date, but Paige was nervous nonetheless; she had asked Emily out on their real official first date. She wanted to make it up to Emily for the impromptu date that had involved a far away, hole in the wall place. She wanted it to be sort of the opposite of that date. So, she decided to take Emily somewhere really public; an amusement park.
They walked through the turnstile and entered the busy park. Emily intertwined her hand with Paige's as they walked deeper into the place. The area by the entrance was mostly adorned with restaurants and souvenir shops. A large group of people toward Emily's right caught her attention, so she turned to look at them. She could easily discern they were tourists, as some carried backpacks and had big expensive-looking cameras around their necks. They had gathered in front of a large, beautiful fountain to take a picture. Paige, noticing where Emily's attention had drifted to, asked, "Do you want to take a picture there, too?"
Emily turned to her girlfriend and said, smiling, "Sure." Then she added, somewhat shyly, "I actually kind of wanted to throw in a penny, too."
Paige smiled, thinking it was cute that Emily still did that. The girls walked toward the fountain and waited for the group to finish taking their pictures. Once they were done, the girls stepped up to the fountain. Paige pulled out some change from her pocket and handed it over to Emily. "Thank you," Emily said, and gave Paige a smile that made the girl wish she had all the change in the world to give Emily.
Emily turned to the fountain, thought for a second, then flicked the coin into the air. However, she didn't do it quite right, so the coin headed toward the side. Thinking she could catch it in time, she reached for the coin. She almost had it, but her movements where too fast and clumsy; the coin bounced in her hand and made a new trajectory. The whole incident happened in the blink of an eye. Emily took another swing at the flying coin, missing with one hand, but moved forward, trying with her other hand. The fall only took about two seconds, but in the first, Emily realized she had made a mistake. "Shit, Emily!" Paige exclaimed, seeing her girlfriend falling into the fountain.
Paige made a quick grab for Emily's shirt, but it was too late to prevent Emily from falling in. Instead, all Paige managed was to get dragged into the fountain as well. Emily surfaced from the water and burst out laughing. Paige pulled her head out too and looked at her girlfriend, as they both laid partly submerged in water. She chuckled and splashed Emily. "Dork," she said lovingly.
