Children of America

Little Georgia walked through the corridor of the house. It was early morning. Big brother Jason was still asleep, so she decided to go find mommy or daddy.

Where they still in bed? Her tiny stomach ached for some food. Hopefully, they would eat soon. The door to the patio was open, and her father was there looking at the sunrise. Turning, daddy saw her.

"Georgie…!" Steve went over and picked his daughter up. "You're up."

A kiss was soon on her face. He gently bobbed her up and down, walking up to the railing of the patio. The sun was barely up, leaving some shadow behind. The river gushed down below. Arrays of blues and greens were all there. The mountains still had snow. The toddler smiled.

"Yes, Georgie, I like it, too…" Steve smiled, still bobbing her. "It is beautiful… like you."

He planted a kiss on her tiny head. There was so much for her to explore… What will she see? If only she could go down there and see the stream. Then again, who knows what will happen today.

Perhaps friends will come over. Maybe they'll play with the blocks, or the dolls. Mommy may take them too the pool.

"Maybe you'll turn out like this beautiful view…" he smiled. "I definitely hope so. You don't have to win medals or awards to make me happy, Gi… People will expect so much out of you because you're my daughter. Whatever you do, I know you'll make me proud."

He kissed her tiny hand. It seemed like yesterday when she was born. Now she was a walking toddler. How they grow up so fast… If only he could take this moment before Georgia got any bigger.

She looked so much like his mother. Georgia Sarah Rogers. She was named after her two grandmothers. When he heard Georgie giggle, when a smile was on her face, that gleam in her eye… It was as if Sarah was still here. He knew Georgie was going to have the grace of Sarah.

Jason was on the leg of his father, an unwavering laugh was on his face.

"Hey, buddy…! You awake?" he smiled. "Georgie, say 'good morning, Jason'…!"

He placed the same expectations he had for Georgia on Jason. Just because Steve was Captain America, Jason didn't have to follow in his father's footsteps. Whatever his children did, he'd be proud of them, no matter what.

He gestured his children back into the house.

"Where's mommy? Let's go have breakfast before she sets the kitchen on fire… We don't want that, do we?"

Thanks to my best bud Singer of Water, I have this story idea planned out and this scene is waaaaay into the future, though I had to write it. Thanks to roleplaying, I had this OC just for kicks and then the ball started to roll. So once I have more fire to boot, it may come up. ^^

And check out Singer of Water's story Winter is Ending. :)
