I Don't

"You seem to be getting pretty cozy with her."

"You're bloody mad." Spike snapped. He was having a drink at Willy's as the snitching bartender tried to make him confess about Willow.

"She's a sweet thing. Not surprised she was able to make you fall for her."

"I don't have any damn feelings for the witch!" Spike yelled.

"Can't figure you out, pal." Willy said, as he poured Spike another drink.

"What's to figure out? I'm a blood thirsty killer who can no longer bite. And I don't have any bleeding feelings for Red!" His voice got louder with every word.

"Shame, I would think you wouldn't mind having her, but I guess I'm wrong." Willy said as he polished a glass.

"Would you cut it out! You just don't know when to quit, do you!?" Spike stood up so fast, he knocked the chair over.

He threw some money on the counter and stormed out of the bar.

Walking down the street, Spike decided to stop by Giles' house to see if there was anything he could go out and kill.

"Not because Red might be there, no. Because I like to fight, yeah, that's it." He mumbled to himself.

Spike got to Giles' house and walked it. And there she was. The red- headed witch was sitting at the table, reading (as usual).

Realizing he was staring, Spike quickly recovered and entered the room.

Willow looked up and smiled. "Hi, Spike." Then she returned to reading.

If Spike had a heartbeat, it would have skipped a beat. ~ Stop it. I don't like her ~ He thought to himself.

"Looking up info on the new baddie in town?" Spike asked hopefully. "I could use a good fight."

"Nope, sorry. This is just for my own reading pleasure." She gave him an impish grin.

"Oh. Do you know if Giles has anymore blood?"

"I think he keeps a stock in the fridge."

As Spike fetched a bag of blood, he thought of how much of an idiot he was.

~ I have no feelings for Red, so why do I act like a poof around her? ~ Spike thought to himself as the blood heated up.

The microwave beeped. Spike pulled out the steaming mug and blew on it as he drank. He peeked around the corner at Willow. His eyes softened.

~ Maybe, I do after all…~
