The Life Café was appropriately decorated for this time of year. Mistletoe, twinkle lights, and snowmen hung everywhere. The Life Café was full of customers as an already inebriated Joanne ordered another round. Mimi jumped on the table and danced around grabbing the tray of drinks from the waiter as he walked by and started passing around the drinks herself. Collins spotted a broom in the corner of the room and nudged Angel. Angel smiled and grabbed the broom, tossing it to Mimi. Mimi did an impromptu strip tease using the broom for Joanne, whom the party was for. Roger offered her a hand down and she dropped giggling into his lap.

"A toast!" called a slurring Maureen. "To my baby on her promotion…now maybe she can come home once in a while!"

"Cheers." Yelled the group. Within a few minutes Maureen and Joanne were making out on top of the table. Mimi slapped Joanne on the ass. "Watch it chica!" she teased. "You almost spilled my beer!"

Joanne looked up momentarily "Give me about 3 minutes and I'll buy you another one." Maureen giggled and replied. "Give her five!"

"MEOW!" yelled Angel who was sitting in Collins lap. "Damn, Joanne. Seems like someone missed you girl!"

"Sorry, I was late guys!" Mark shouted running in the door. "Alexi had me doing a piece about this vending machine that supposedly moved across a hallway by itself….I sat there for three hours and saw shit."

"Poor baby with the paying job." Joked Roger handing him a drink. "Better hurry, you're about 8 shots behind the rest of them."

"Shit! God Damnit! Fuck!" Yelled Mark as he looked down sounding like a kid with Tourettes.

"Whoa! You okay Mark?" asked Collins as he offered Mark his smoke. "Want a hit?"

"No. Thanks. I just spent the past three hours staring at a vending machine and now there's mud all over my scarf. If I don't get home and bleach it right away, there's no way to get that shit out. What else could go wrong?" He noticed his ex Maureen being straddled by Joanne, "oh yeah."

After a few drinks Mark cheered up and after another couple he became positively giddy. The party continued into the early morning until the effects of the alcohol had somewhat dulled. As Joanne and Maureen walked home someone stopped them.

"Joanne?" The unfamiliar woman asked. "It's been forever!" She seemed ecstatic to see Joanne but Maureen noticed the glare tossed her way. "How are your parents? Tell them hi for me?"

"Maybe, I'm just too drunk or horny, but I didn't catch your name." said Maureen with a hint of venom.

"Sara, Sara Diaz." Said the woman.
"Sara and I…" Joanne said hesitantly "used to date."

"Used to?" asked Maureen "As in how long ago?"

"3 months before we met. She cheated on me." Joanne replied.

"Well," Sara said noticing the tension. "I guess I'd better go..."

"One question, she has a nice ass doesn't she?" Maureen asked Sara. Sara nodded, unsure of where this was heading. Joanne smiled and blushed a bit. Maureen rarely became overprotective like this. It was a welcome change. "That must make you an idiot for giving it up. It belongs to me now." They walked off hand in hand leaving Sara in the dust. Maureen's laughter echoed off the buildings
