One might wonder

What keeps the three in balance?

Thunder strikes water, water strikes fire

But fire does not strike thunder

The circle remains unfinished

Broken and incomplete

What is the link that binds them together?

It lies not in destruction but in creation

Water forms into clouds

From which thunder falls

Lighting the ground below with fire

Creating the vapor of water anew

The balance is preserved not by uneasy truce

As it is with fire, water, plant

But by the unending cycle

Not of destruction but of creation

Of which each play a part.
