Chapter 1: Whispering Secrets
(Clare's POV)
I was walking home from a long day at work. I looked down on the sidewalk and continued walking down the quiet streets of Toronto, Canada. While I was walking, I bumped into a mysterious guy and dropped my suitcase. "Oh dear, I'm sorry sir!" I panicked. "Its ok ma'am, I should be sorry", the man chuckled. "No, it's me. By the way, I'm Clare", I smiled. "I'm Eli", he replied. We shook hands and Eli picked up her suitcase and handed to me. "Thanks Eli", I smiled. "No problem", he chuckled. "So, um, do you stay around here?" I asked shyly. "Yeah, just around the corner, and you?" he replied. I gasped and said, "I live around myself! How come you never come out? Or I just don't notice you". "I tend to be more of an early bird than usual", Eli replied. I nodded and thanked Eli for the little chat. All day I sat just thinking about this handsome man I bumped into. I sat there day-dreaming until, I was interrupted by my co-worker, Alli. "So are we still going to the Bowling Alley", Alli said. "Sure, whatever", I replied fast. "Oohh! I think you just fell in love", she explained. He's just so different just what I like, I mumbled. "What was that Clare", Alli asked. "Nothing", I said swiftly.
