I'M BACK WITH TYPE OF KISSES 2!
This was something I'd wanted to do for a long time because writing the first volume of Type of kisses was really enjoyable and cool to do. I thought I believed that many of you enjoyed reading it too and so, it took me time but I finally got new inspiration and ideas to write more chapters. I hope I won't disappoint you with this new volume and that you will still enjoy reading me!
Sleepy kiss – A kiss that is more like lips brushing, when one of them is too tired and barely awake to kiss the other properly. Both of them end up in bed curling, legs intertwined and fall asleep.
When Sasha had come home that night, she was beyond exhausted. Her whole body was making her pay for the last days spent in the Equator jungle. She had returned from a mission earlier in the day and despite the shared exhaustion of Vulture team, the General Staff had insisted to meet immediately for a debriefing. She had no choice but to spend two extra hours locked in an office, surrounded by high-ranking officers, after having endured a five hour flight.
As she crossed the threshold, she could feel the pressure coming down all suddenly, her soared muscles relaxing one after the other and her brain emptying of all thoughts. She carelessly threw her bag on the floor in the entrance and made her way to the bathroom. She wasn't really surprised not to have a warming welcome for her return. The kids were still in St. Louis and were only coming home the next weekend, while Tom was probably giving classes right now. The house was empty and silent, and it felt good to finally be home.
A few hours later, Tom walked through the security gate and headed for the exit. He looked at his watch and was slightly mad at himself for coming home so late once again and cursed the late boring meetings at the naval academy. He knew she probably had been home for several hours now and he could no longer wait to surround his arms around her tenderly and feel her body against his.
They had hardly had any moments of their own lately, and it was more and more difficult for them to see each other even for an evening. Tom had chosen to put his uniform aside and leave behind all his years of service on the field. He had done it first for himself, for the weight of guilt and patriotism that had become too heavy for one man to bear. But he did it also for his children and his relationship. He wanted to spend more time with his family, but things hadn't really gone as he had imagined in the first place and he even felt it became worse than ever.
He parked his car in the driveway behind hers, and as he stepped out he noticed the dim light coming from inside the house. He felt slightly relieved to know there might have a chance she was still awake at this hour. He plunged the key in the lock and opened the front door.
"Sash, I'm home!" He raised his voice as he stepped in the house. He softly closed the door behind him and then dropped his keys on the hallway furniture. He received no answer back and assumed she was probably upstairs. But as he stepped in the living room, he was surprised to find her lying on the couch, heavily sleeping.
She had tried to stay awake and fought so hard against sleep to be there when he would get home. As the hours faded away and there was no sight of him, she had guessed he would make it a bit later in the night. But even with all the strength left, she collapsed on the couch waiting for him as the hot shower and the cozy outfit had finished her off.
He couldn't help but smile at the view. He dropped his briefcase on the dining table and walked towards her. He crouched in front of the couch and watched her sleep for a while. Her hair was still a bit damp, and he could smell the coconut scent of the shower gel she used. He noticed the dark circles below her eyes and he gazed at her slight freckles. He took his time to linger on her features, although she had only left a few days, he had almost forgotten how beautiful she was. He first didn't dare touching her, afraid of waking her up. But then he carefully, so lightly, brushed some curls out of her face. He inhaled gently, enjoying the rushed feeling of happiness that was seizing his whole body.
He carefully slipped one of his hands under her knees and the other made its way behind her back. As he straightened himself, he picked her up in his arms and headed for the stairs, carrying her like she didn't weigh anything. She emerged a bit from her sleep, as she had felt herself being lifted by two strong arms but she didn't find the courage to open her eyes. She immediately knew who the man was, her man. She nested her head instinctively in the crook of his neck and she breathed in his scent. She had missed his smell, his warmth and his strength. She raised her arm and wrapped it around his broad shoulders. He climbed the stairs one by one, gently, not to rush her and as he reached their bedroom, he was careful not to hit her legs on the door jam. The room was plunged into darkness but he easily walked to the bed. He gently lowered her on the mattress. She rolled on her left side, and curled her legs in a fetal position. Tom smiled and grabbed the sheets folded at the foot of the bed and pulled it to her shoulders. Her eyes remained close the whole time. He didn't even know if she was aware of how she ended up there. He walked around to his side and took off his shoes. He stepped out of his pants and shirt, eager to join her.
He slid under the covers and the cold cloth against his skin made him shiver but it only lasted a few seconds as he quickly found the warm body he was looking for. His hand made its way to her waist mindlessly and he pulled her against him. She moaned, and finally acknowledged his presence as she slipped her legs between his and wrapped her arm around his torso.
"You're home." She mumbled in a barely audible voice, as she leaned back her head to face him.
"You too." He whispered back, and lowered his head towards hers. "How was the flight?" He asked against her lips, and kissed her tenderly. But all he felt was the stoic feeling of her lips against his. He lingered a little bit longer and then leaned back to look at her face. He could guess her closed eyes and partly opened mouth in the dim light of the room. Her breathing had become deeper and calmer, sign that she had gone back to sleep in his arms. He chuckled quietly and tightened his grip on her, tucking her in with the covers. He couldn't really hold it against her. Although he had been locked between four walls during the whole day giving classes to hundreds of students, he could also feel the growing desire to let himself go in Morpheus arms. He buried his nose in her hair, closing his eyes and breathed in her scent. He savored the feeling of knowing her safe in his embrace and soon he joined her in a deep sleep, with a feeling of fullness and love warming his chest.
