Zexion

heheh. This story's a little shorter that my other ones. :) and it's not exactly my favorite... But... Here it is!

--

Zexion.

You kind of couldn't resist walking into the library on campus everyday and watching him read. He sat there everyday, at the same table, hundreds of books stacked at each side. Already, he was picking up another book and glancing at the cover with an interested look on his face.

"His name is Zexion." Said an elderly voice behind you. You turn around to stare into the face of the librarian.

"Huh?"

"You sit behind the fiction novel shelf all the time and watch him read," She reminds you rather loudly. "I know. I see you back here all the time." You shush her as the boy peers up from his rather large book and looks around, then back to his book again. She laughs like an old woman and smiles at you. "Well, isn't this ironic. I should be the one shushing you…"

"I just don't want him to know I spend my day watching him read." You admit, a bit embarrassed.

"Do you read?"

You raise your eyebrows at the woman. "What does that have to do with anything?" You ask. The old lady shushes you and points a bony finger at the book Zexion is looking at.

"The Chronicles on Narnia?" You say aloud, to no one in particular. You feel the lady's small bony hands rest on your shoulders and push you rather hard, out from behind the book case. Soon enough, you've stumbled out in front of Zexion's table. You turn around to yell something at the elderly woman, but rethink the action when you notice Zexion staring straight at you. His eyebrows are raised in a confused, yet rather curious manner.

He stands up from his table and walks over to you, extending a hand to help you up. You just stare at it for a while, but eventually he just lifts you up by your shoulders.

"Gee Zexion… Thanks for helping me up." He smiles at you.

"Yeah," You say, looking over at the stack of books. "Are you sure you have enough books?" You ask him. He laughs quietly.

"I think I'm set. I was going to check them out today." He says, smiling proudly at them.

"There's no way you can read them all by yourself." You say, crossing your arms in a doubtful manner.

"No…" He says, shaking his head with a smile. "Not by myself." He reaches for one of the books and hands it to you.

"The Chronicles of Narnia?"

"Yeah… I heard you like the book." He grins widely and sends a wink in the old woman's direction. She gives him a nod of approval, then walks off.
