I stepped down from my my dodge pickup truck. I had just got it with the money I had been saving prom work. I locked it then walked over to my friends that were standing next to the tree that we met up at every morning. " Hey, what's up guys?" I greeted Harper with a hug and Taylor with our handshake. " Yo yo, homie!" Tay beamed. " Um don't ever say that again'" Harper said giggling. They began to bicker like they usually did but I didn't join in this time.
I leaned back against the tree and scanned over the parking lot that was filled with teens. A few girls walked past me, bumping into my shoulder. I'm assuming on purpose. I guess this would be the time to tell you about my self. I'm Alex Russo, formerly known as "Rebel Russo. I'm totally the bad ass type. I have never cared about my grades, what people thought of me or anything really. You'd think that everyone would want to befriend and hang around the rebel of the school but in my case that's not it. See, at my school you're measured by who you know, how rich you are, and stuff like that. My family isn't rich and I barely even talk to other people besides Taylor and Harper so you can see where I rank in all of this. I love basketball, it's one of my favorite things ever in this world. I've been trying out for the schools team since freshman year but for some reason I never make it. I'm good at the sport however I guess when you're judged based off of your popularity it's hard. I'm going to try it again this year and hopefully I actually make it this time. I took in to context this summer how terrible my grades are and it dawned on me that in order to get out of this hell hole I have to apply myself. So that's what I'm going to strive for, not only for me but for my parent. I've been letting them down and well.. let's not get into that right now.
I skimmed over the lot some more. I wasn't looking for her but I saw her, Mitchie Torres. The governors daughter A.K.A the most popular girl in school.
She wasn't like those cliche, bitchy popular girls. I mean yeah she had the money, the talent, and the athlete boyfriend, and of course the group of evil minions but there was more to her than that. As she was getting out of her car and i noticed what she was wearing. She was clad in some rock band T shirt, ripped short shorts, and a pair of converse. She looked as beautiful as always. It was like I had zoomed in on her and it was just her standing, no one else. I wish that - "Alex!" Taylor's face appeared in front of me.
" Earth to Alex!" He snapped his fingers. He must have been trying to get my attention for awhile. I shook my head " Yeah, I'm sorry. Kinda zoned out." Taylor turned around, finding what caught my focus. " Oh, it's your little crush." He smirked. " Well we need to go find our lockers so snap out of it , lover girl." The brunette boy nudged me. " Alright." I smiled. I noticed that Harper wasn't with us anymore, I wonder why. "Tay, where's Harper?" I asked. " Oh um, she had to go.. Do something. She said she catch up with us later." He nodded but his expression seemed as if he had been caught doing something wrong. I wonder what that's all about. I just went along with what he said but
Taylor and Harper both knew that I had this thing for Mitchie. Harper wasn't all for it when she found out because of the fact that Mitchie's friends were some of the snobs that messed with us. So she doesn't really like her, I guess. Taylor, on the other hand, maybe because he used to be cool with Mitchie's crew. Something with Him and Mitchie happened a long time ago and he stopped associating with her friends. I'm not sure why but now he hangs out with Harper and i. They consider him one of us now.
When we finally found are lockers they were located next to each other. We turned to one another, obviously sharing the same thought, and high fived. Last year our lockers were scattered around the school, we never saw each other routing passing periods.
As we were opening our lockers, someone called Taylor. We turned around at the sound of the voice and it was Mitchie.
"Hey Taylor!" She smiled. " Hey Alex." I nodded, nervous to say anything else.
" Hey Mitchie." He said with a indifferent expression. "Long time no see, how was you summer?" " it was good. And yours?" He slipped his hands into his pocket. Their conversations were really awkward now that they aren't as close. "It was really good." She answered. I looked between the two of them, of course gazing at the girl longer. After an uncomfortable moment of silence, she said " I better go get ready for first period then, bye guys." Before leaving.
"Well that was odd." I laughed. " She hasn't talked to me in like forever, I'm surprised she even said hi. I was hoping she'd leave though before her followers surfaced." " Yeah." I agreed while shutting my locker. " The halls were starting to clear. "Hey, let's get to class before we're late.
I had to rewrite some of these first chapters. I realized how terrible they were so possibly reread it and understand the story better? Bye guys :D
