A/N: I was bored so I decided to write something to help me with both my boredom and my writers block, and this is what the finished product was. It's basically a one-shot over view type thing of Ginny's feelings for Harry.
DISCLAIMER: No I don't own anything about Harry Potter, I don't own anything except for a box of stale pretzels and my imagination, which isn't worth much believe me.
Foolish Feelings
Ginny Weasley wasn't one to follow her heart, she didn't trust it. And the one time she had made the mistake to let her feelings take control they had led her to someone unattainable, and she hated herself for it. Because she was foolish enough to listen to her heart she longed for something she could never have. And try as she might she could not rid herself of her feelings, feelings she knew would never be returned. Because she had followed her heart she was forced to hide her feelings. She had to pretend that every time he looked at her with those beautiful emerald eyes that it didn't make her go weak in the knees. Whenever he was around she had to watch her every move, and think very carefully before she spoke because f she didn't she would risk turning into a stuttering, blushing, star struck little girl again.
She knew she wasn't really star struck anymore, like she was at the age of eleven, but that wouldn't stop her from putting her elbow in the butter dish again if he was around unless she was very careful. Once she learned how to control herself around him, when she trusted herself not to act like a fool, she would have conversations with him. Nothing meaningful or important, but it was enough to let her get to know the person behind all of the heroics. She discovered his faults and liked that much more just because he had them. It made her realize that he was a real person who wasn't perfect, he screwed up just like everyone else. And in turn he started to see her not as his best friends little sister, but as her own person.
Of course this friendship did nothing to help her get rid of her feelings, if anything talking to him had an opposite effect. Ginny fell in love with him, and it made her miserable. While her dorm mates whispered and giggled into the night, talking about their most recent crushes and who was dating who, she would sit on her bed aching to join them in their mindless unimportant chit chat. Wishing she wasn't so deeply in love with a person she couldn't have. Their giggling annoyed her, because they didn't have to worry about making fools of themselves in front of the loves of their lives. Whenever the talk turned to cute older boys, Ginny would wait with bated breathe. And when they mentioned him (they always did, how could they not?) she felt jealousy build up inside her. She would feel even more depressed more depressed, because she knew those girls were much prettier than her, and she would never have a chance. Because, why would he pick plain old Ginny Weasley, dressed in her brothers old robes, when there was practically a fan club out there for him, made up of older, richer, prettier girls.
And when she finally decided to forget about him and move on with her life, he would glance up at her from across the common room and smile. It was a smile that would melt her heart and make her feel like the only girl in the world. And she would think to herself, maybe following her heart to Harry Potter wasn't such a bad thing after all.
ANOTHER A/N: So there you go, review please if you liked it and even if you didn't, just really like hearing what people have to say. I don't pretend to think I'm a good writer so believe me any flames you send me won't hurt my self esteem. And as for my other story(They've Got Her)I have really bad writers block but I'm gonna try to update soon, if I figure out where to take the story .
