Stefan and Elena's relationship grew over their time at the Lake-House, seeing stars and thinking of old memories, and Elena remembered that Stefan had been right all along, "you won't be sad forever." In fact she wasn't sad, the only sad thing she's seen was the face Damon tried to hide when they drove away.
She didn't know how she should feel about that, she looked at her missed calls, there hadn't been any from Damon. Maybe he'd given her and Stefan some space.
Just then Stefan came out of the house with a cup of hot tea, she accepted it as he gave it to her.
"Have you heard from Damon?" Elena asked, taking a sip from her cup and trying not to seem too forward, otherwise brows would be cocked and furrowed.
Stefan looked in the sky, resting his hand on the wooden dock. "Yeah, I don't think he wants to talk to me."
Elena was going to ask why but she already knew the answer, Elena pushed some hair behind her ear and smiled a bit.
""You`re right to be afraid of me; I`m the most dangerous thing you`re ever likely to encounter in your life. Some might say."
"I'm not afraid of you," Damon glared at Klaus with his gleaming blue eyes. "I just don't like you."
"Come on, Damon. Show some emotion."
Damon threw the duffel bag into the tomb. "Oh, you know I would love to watch you desiccate, but maybe that's not my target, ever-since you got stuck in this tomb, my problems seem to be going away."
Klaus disappeared from in plain sight, which was weird cause Klaus usually had some comeback, Damon stuck his head inside, to find himself being tugged inside, he came busting against the invisible barrier.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Damon shouted and helplessly banged against the barrier, there was anger in his gleaming eyes now.
Klaus snatched his cell from one of Damon's many pockets. "Let's see who comes after you."
Stefan watched Elena as she rested on him, he stroked her hair, she was so beautiful, he never knew why life had been, his phone rang and Elena sat up. "Who's that?"
"It's Caroline's mom." Stefan answered the phone and left the room. "Hey, Liz what's going on?"
"Have you spoke to Damon? We have a vampire situation I need him here."
"He's probably at the house."
"No, I already checked, he's not there." Liz took a breath. "Look, I have to go, call me when you hear from him."'
Stefan clicked off, then looked at Elena, she shook her head. "What's going on? What happened?"
"I think we need to cut this trip short." He said.
"Why? Stefan we just got here." She complained.
"I think something's wrong with Damon."
Coming back to Mystic Falls was a dreadful journey, not knowing whether they were going too fast or too slow, she tried to steady her pulsing heart, trying not to seem too worried, when they got to the Salvatore Boarding House, it seemed abandoned, they went inside and abandoned it was.
