He'd left the house only a few minutes ago - it couldn't have been more than ten - and when he'd first stepped outside, the sky had been clear blue. But now there were storm clouds gathering abovehead, and everything was turning a gloomy shade of gray.

"Just great," Ed muttered under his breath. I can't even take a walk without something going wrong. Okay, so rain wasn't exactly high on the scale of Things Going Wrong, considering, but when his return home would most likely be received with a wrench to the head and the cry of "What if my automail had rusted?!" it wasn't exactly something to look forward to.

"Ed!"

Something crashed into him from behind. Hard.

"Ow! What the- Winry, what was that for?"

"Lost my balance. Your back hurts," Winry said, rubbing her nose and glaring. (She really shouldn't have been complaining, seeing as she was the one who'd run into him, not the other way around, but Ed didn't say anything about this. Being bludgeoned to death wasn't his idea of fun.) "I brought you an umbrella, by the way," she added, holding it out to him.

"Thanks, but I'll be fine." Ed pushed the umbrella away slightly. "The walk isn't that long."

"It's ten minutes!" And I don't want your arm to rust!" She pushed the umbrella back towards him.

"A little rain isn't going to do anything!"

"It could!"

Oh, she could be so exasperating sometimes... "Yeah, and I could get struck by lightning right now - it's the same probability both ways!"

"Just take the umbrella." Shoving it in his face now. Great, she's sulking again, Ed thought. And the moment we get home she'll just lock herself in her study for the next seven hours. Again.

"You take the umbrella. You don't want to get a cold, do you?"

Winry did not take the umbrella.

Ed grabbed her wrist. "Could you at least not hold it so close to my face?" No reply, just that "take-the-darn-umbrella-already" face. Okay, she's obviously not going to stop that until either I take the umbrella or - or... something...

"Something" happened to be Ed letting go of Winry's arm, grabbing the front of her coat, and kissing her (causing Winry to drop the umbrella in suprise.)

Neither of them noticed that the rain had started until ten minutes later.
