Sam was in his room doing his homework, when a soft knocking on his door interrupted him.
"C'mon in!" He called from his bed, and Jamie entered and closed the door.
"Oh hey, I'm doin' some homework now, so if it nothin' important I-" Sam stopped short when Jamie turned to face Sam with tears brimming in his eyes and threatening to fall. "Wha- Y'alright there, Jamie? What happened?" Sam worriedly asked as he dropped his pen and sat up from his previous position of lying on his torso.
"I- I dropped my favourite lucky pencil under the fridge, and I have a test a test tomorrow, and- and no one else wants to help me get it out because they're too busy, and there's no way I can pass without my lucky pencil, and-" Jamie stopped to sniffle.
"Well, I'll help you later, okay Jamie? Right now I gotta-" Jamie sniffed again and a single tear rolled down his face.
Sam sighed and hopped off his bed. "Aww, don't cry lil' guy. I'll help ya get your lucky pencil, no problem!" Sam was a sucker for a crying little kid, since he was the older brother to 9 other siblings in his family back in Kentucky.
Jamie immediately brightened up and wiped his eyes with his sleeve. "Thanks Sam! You're the best!"
They made their way to the kitchen, and when they got there, Sam went on his hands and knees. Before he could bend lower to look under the fridge though, he felt pressure dropped onto his back.
He grunted from the sudden excess weight. "What in the-!"
"Yee-haw, gotcha!" Jamie cheered, grabbing Sam's hair with one hand and slapping his butt with the other like a horse, activating his powers. "Giddy-up, horsey!"
"Hey!"
They smashed through the kitchen window and out into the field. It wasn't long before they lost control and crash-landed into the pool, with Jamie hiding from Sam for the rest of the day.
From then on, Sam swore to never tell Jamie stories about horse taming and bull riding from the back home again.
Ahh, the New Recruits are just so cute, I can't get enough of them. I thought Sam as an older brother type is freaking adorable, and I think Jamie is an appropriate mischievous little brother haha! Seems to me like he'll grow up to be another Bobby, though. I recently got back into X Men: Evolution, and my huge love for it came pouring back, so I decided to write something haha. It's been so long since I uploaded my first story and I'm kinda embarrassed about it, but ah whatever heh! Also I need to write more and practice, so… gonna see how it goes! Feedback appreciated a lot :3
