The selection series has 5 books. In a dystopian fairy-tale world where war has given rise to a kingdom named illea, society is driven by castes. Each cast has a role, weather its as an artist, farmer, or a factory worker. One is the highest caste and contains people like royalty while eight is the lowest and contains the poorest people who don't have the means of employment.
Summary:
America singer is an average girl in the country of illea which is formed out of the remnants of the united states following world war 3. America and her family are 5's, which means that 1 they're pretty poor 2 they're required by law to be artists or musicians, even if they're no good. Unsurprisingly, not everyone loves the caste system, and there are rebel groups trying to overflow the government, America just received a letter inviting her to take part in the selection. A reality show competition in which 35 young women are brought to the palace to fight for illea's princes heart. After the first night of America being there she has a panic attack and tries to escape to the gardens when she is stopped by two guards. After struggling against them she hears for them to release her and let her out. Only the person who said that was the prince himself. How will America play out the selection? Will she forget her caste and become a higher caste or will she win the prince over?
