Prologue

As Link rode on Ephona's back through the clearing that was Hyrule field, his thoughts wandered to the past events. Ever since the beginning of his epic journey, half of him always expected to wake up in his bed back i Ordon village, expected to go trough his normal daily routine, wake up, get dressed, and help Fabio herd the goats, and on his off days, play with the children... How he missed them, not just the children, but everything. The lazy afternoons fishing with Rusl, or the warm homemade soup he was forced on from Uli when he sat bedridden in his small hut on the outskirt of the village. He could feel his mouth watering from the thought of her soup, he hadn't had it in a long while, and as soon as he got back he would beg the kind mother-like figure to cook it for him at his arrival. He could already picture the gathering that would happen as soon as he appeared in the village after so long, he would probably be sitting to long after midnight telling stories of his journey.

Link smiled to himself as his carefree thoughts wandered to his loved ones. He looked down on Ephona and pated her mane as she rode with a fierce determination in her eyes, but the first thing he would do once he got back was- an explosion shook Link out of his thoughts as well as Ephona. The young hero looked panicked around the clearing, searching for the source of the sudden interruption. Not being able to find any abnormalities across the beautiful green, fields of Hyrule. The blond decided to resume on his way back home as yet another explosion erupted, the strength of the eruption caused Link to lose focus on his balance and, fall off his horse, leaving him in the middle of the field, watching as Ephona retreat to the distant woods on the other side of the field.

Link looked panicked at his surroundings, trying to find some sort of explanation for the sudden eruptions. He stood up slowly, sword and shield in hands, trying not to blink for a second even. He had been standing there for a couple of minutes, before slowly letting his guard down. The blond's hands fell to his sides as he was about to reach for his precious flute he got from a even more precious friend, as he froze. The Hylians ears perked up as he picked up small vibrations from... Above him?

Link looked up as his eyes widen in realization. Below!

Just as the thought popped into his head the ground below him started to crumble away. Link had always had good reflexes, even before he started his long journey, so he could only thank the goddesses for having them as he was just able to doge the things grabbing for his feet. The blond looked horrified at the scenery before him... What was that?! The thing that had erupted from the ground below. He had never seen any monster like it. And even if this was a usual monster, he had already banished all evil from the land of Hyrule not hours ago! It was like a black hole and out of that hole came... Link found no other word than tentacle to describe the thing before him.

The hero's thoughts were soon cut short as his attacker flung two of his 'arms' at the ground Link had been standing on the second before.

He had to take action, he couldn't afford to just doge. If there was anything Link has been thought throughout his journey, it was how to fight. He tightened his finger around the hilt of his sword as he rose his shield to right below his blue, determent eyes, searching the creature for any kind of area that might make a pass as a weak point. Link slowly crept around it, while carefully dodging each strike coming his way.

The hero soon tired out from the repeated attacks. Not only was the strength of the attacker fairly underestimated, but also very unexpected. The dark creature moved like no other he had ever encountered before. The blond was about to counter-attack when something caught him off guard, a voice to be more precise. His voice.

Links panick hit in once more, except this time much stronger. He was quiet surprised when he found himself face to face with a monster, but now it all makes sense. Of course it would end up being him!

"You have not won this battle yet, hero. I shall summon my last bit of strength and crush you!"

Not being able to snap out of the trance the voice had put the blond in, he was grabbed by one of the 'tentacles' and swiftly dragged him up in the air. Unable to move probably, Link swung his sword towards the monster in every direction, but the monster didn't seem to heed. The hero had faced countless challenges in his lifetime, yet he could always find a way out of any tough situation, so there was no reason he couldn't do the same now.

The blond dropped his shield to the ground, and got a better grip on the master sword with both hands, he swung his sword at the closest prey. By sheer luck the relieved hero struck a 'tentacle' and he was dropped to the ground. The second Link hit the ground the master sword erupted a bright light, as it never had done before, and everything disappeared.

Before the blond was able to comprehend what had happened he was met with darkness. He clutched his sword as if expecting someone to take it from him any minute, but in return was met with nothing but the loud noise of silence. He slowly rose to his feet, sword still in hand, and looked bewildered at his surroundings. As he was about to open his mouth to hear if his voice even worked, he was met with another binding light, although not as bright as the previous one, it made the hero look away as he shielded his eyes. When Link looked up again, a confused look was plastered on his face, he looked at the source of the light, then down at his hand, then fasting his gaze back at his sword that was currently levitating in front of him. His look quickly turned to that of a sour one as he heard a voice from all around him and nowhere in particular. His eyes flew panic-stricken to his surroundings, but the hero was yet again faced with darkness. Link instead focused on the voice, and somehow was able to intrepid what it said.

"It was the only way to save you from destruction, forgive me Link..."

The voice sung the words a few more times in a bewildering matter, and abruptly stopped, but the swords light didn't stop as it only grew brighter and brighter. Link could feel his consciousness slowly slipping away and his panic grow, but he could do nothing as he soon fell to his knees, unable to hold his weight up any longer. Links last thoughts ran to his 'family' and a small, regretful smile found it's place on the hero's face as his eyes slowly shut close.

"Kakashi-sensei...?"

"Hm?"

"Please tell me this isn't what I think it is..."

The sensei that had previously refused to look away from his book now threw a curious glance at the back of the smaller blond. He lazily walked over beside the other ninja to see what the smaller was exaggerating this time. His eyes slightly widen as he crouched down to touche the small drops of blood, as he noticed the blood had been smeared on his finger tips, he slowly rose from the forest ground and examined their surroundings. The silver-haired ninja's eye fell on the blood drops that had formed a trail further into the woods. He signalized for the blond to be quiet as they carefully followed the presence that Kakashi suddenly had been aware of.

Naruto and Kakashi had stopped in their tracks as the mysterious presence in front of them held a sword at their throat, growling between girthed teeth.

Both Kakashi and Naruto knew they could take on the target with ease, not only with it being two against one, but the presence was using one of his hands to clutch a big gap in his side, blood streaming down his leg and down to the ground leaving, him open to anyone who would do him harm. Naruto noticed the boy slightly trembling and stepped forward, ignoring Kakashi's warnings. He slowly took a step forward as the other blond stepped back. The blond ninja carefully took out his kunai, which caused the other blond to shrink into the battle stance. The ninja threw the kunai a few meters to the side, knowing he couldn't reach it in time if his conclusion was wrong. The other blonds shoulders slight sank, but the sword never left his front.

Naruto first signalized for Kakashi to step back, as he took another step forward both hands in the air, showing he means no harm. The other blond seem to try his best to resist the temptation of toppling over. As Naruto started speaking the other blonds pained look turned to a confused one and he slowly lowered his sword to the ground.

When the other blond spoke up it was Naruto and Kakashi's turn to be confused, they quickly threw each other a glance then looked back at the blond in front of them. Naruto smiled nervously.

"S-sure whatever you say... Look, we mean no harm, we can help you." as Naruto pointed to the big gash at his side, a relived expression washed over the blonds face as he seemed to get it and dropped his sword to the forest ground a while after examining the blond ninjas face for any kind of indication he is an enemy. The swordsman's knees slowly gave in and he huddled over. Naruto hurriedly jumped the four meters separating them and caught the blond a second before he fell. The ninja leaned the panting blonds head on his shoulder before looking back to where Kakashi was standing and threw him an unsure grin.

"we should head back..." He said as he held the blond in place.

As the mysterious blond was not-too-neatly patched up and securely fastened on the other blonds back, they slowly made their way back to the village. Kakashi threw fidged glances at the newcomer along the way, unsure of how to react to the whole thing. The silver-haired sighed for what felt like the thousand times that day. Give it to Naruto to get involved you in troublesome situations.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
