A reaction to seeing one to many baaaaaad "OMG! The Village HATES naruto and hurts im! can he go on."
ooo
The leaves were turning, Naruto noticed. In his young mind he knew that this had already happened five times, but he felt like he was only seeing it for the first time.
The tree in front of him had a one low brach and without a thought the boy launched himself at it, and clambered into the tree.
"Wah!" He whispered in amazement as he came to the top. Standing on the utmost branch from the top, he had an unparalleled view of the forest he had picked to explore.
The tree he had chosen was by no means the tallest. All around him trees stately rose. A pine off to that side with it's even green needles. A maple tree a brilliant orange with crimson creeping. Gingko in a ruddy yellow coat. They surrounded him, masking everything with their leaves. He gaped in silent wonderment.
He wished that someone with him, so he could say almost looked like a dragon's burst of flame, but he was contented to have just seen it. The boy began to side down the tree, careful to not look down too far. He had been only three meters from the ground when he looked down and it took him a long time to jump down after that.
With a flying windmill of a leap from the brach he had first grabbed, he let out a whoop. Brushing a leaf out of his hair, he looked for the stick he thought looked like a kunai.

It was dusk when he came back into Konoha proper, and the lit paper lanterns floated far above him. The streets were deserted of other children, as it now dinner time in many houses. But ninjas just back from missions and civilians were still heading to home or restaurants, taking advantage of one of the last balmy nights before winter set in.
Naruto hummed a tune only he knew, making it up as he walked home.
Darting onto the curb, he jumped onto it and then jumped again, trying to land on it again. He pretended he was a ninja, jumping through the trees as he pursued bandits. With enthusiastic leaps, he made his way home, laughing delightedly when he made a harder jump and when he fell.
He was not so intent on his activity to notice that as usual, no one acknowledged him. No one said a word to him, only moving out of his way as if he was a stray animal, not even worth a thought.
At least when they glare at me, Naruto thought as he tried to fit the key around his neck into the lock, I know they see me.
