Author's Note: This was my Christmas present to myself. A bit of Lucifer!filk. I find myself missing Season 5 - back when everything was trying to stop the Apocalypse and everything hurt but was awesome anyway. The rhythm and inspiration for this is from a song by Leslie Fish called 'Eumenides', and the lyrics are all my own twisted little invention. It's a song by Lucifer, to Michael, about vengeance. It's also laced with my own headcanons, such as the idea that Lucifer blames Michael being a hothead for causing the debate over humans to escalate into outright war. I've also often wondered; when Michael got dragged down into the Cage with Lucifer... was Sam still in control at that point? Or did Lucifer decide that if he was going back to Hell, there was no way that he going to let his brother win by default, and make the choice to pull Michael down with him? Mostly, though, this is just Lucifer being angry and badass and boasting about how he's going to kick Michael's butt all over Earth.

Warnings: Meh. Lucifer singing about intended fratricide, but if you're not down with that, you're in the wrong fandom. That's all.

Disclaimer: I do not own Supernatural, or Season Five would have ended VERY DIFFERENTLY. Like with reformed Lucifer shacking up with Sam. I digress.

...

Dear brother of mine,

At last's come the time,

When in battle we shall meet again;

Just as before,

In Heaven's great war,

But the victor shall not be as then.

You defeated me once,

As much by sheer chance,

As by any feat of our Lord's will!

Though we both lived back then,

That won't happen again;

This time, we both fight to kill.

So long in the dark,

With no one to hark,

Alone I laid out my grand scheme.

My plans are secure,

And of this I am sure;

Your Paradise is but a dream!

You cast me away and locked me below,

Telling tales of my evil, for no one could know

The other side to your so-glorious tales;

The truth of the matter, the secret unveiled -

Twas you who struck first,

In rage and bloodthirst,

And turned disagreement to war;

Who gave way to Wrath's sin,

And drew blade on your kin,

When no angel had done so before!

So I was cast down,

Locked so far below ground,

In the fires and pain of the Cage.

There I wasted away

With each slow-passing day,

Nursing my hatred and rage.

Yet now I am free,

And all Hell bows to me,

And my true Vessel soon will give in;

All obstacles fall,

If you dare sacrifice all,

And this battle I surely will win!

I've broken the locks you set to keep me here,

And my armies have gathered from far and from near;

All the demons and Fallen in this whole miserable world,

All those who from the warmth of Heaven you've hurled!

My fury burns cold,

As it was foretold,

Long ago in Eden's green shade -

I will never yield;

When we meet on the field,

You'll perish at last by my blade!

Dear brother of mine,

Now has come the time,

For you, for your sins, to atone -

And if by some chance,

I should fall in this dance,

I will not be Falling alone, alone -

I'll not Fall back to Hell all alone!
