Naruto always wondered what Kakashi would look like under that stupid black mask of him. He wanted to know if it were buck teeth, scars or something else under his mask. After constantly failing to get a good look at his naked face, while eating ramen, Naruto made it his self-given mission to finally reveal Kakashi's face.
He would do anything to just get a good look at his former teachers face, no matter if he had to kiss Sasuke a second time, run through Konoha only wearing boxers or even go without ramen for a whole month- even though that would be quite difficult-, but that would be worth it.
Suddenly getting an idea, Naruto got up from his couch and ran to his front door, only to abruptly stop. His idea didn't actually sound that good, the 17-year-old boy thought… because Kakashi wasn't gay, was he? While his ex-sensei never talked about women or something like that, the famous shinobi, the copy-ninja Kakashi just had to be straight… right?
Making a plan, Naruto allowed his mouth to a smirk. He would just try to ask some questions, which would make the grey-haired man feel awkward. Finally walking through the door, the blonde began to search for Kakashi.
Two annoying hours later he eventually arrived at a small clearing between the many trees of Konoha's forest and saw two figures standing there. Recognizing Kakashi and Sasuke he set off reaching them in a few seconds.
"Hey Kakashi-sensei, can I talk to you in private for a moment, dattebayo?" he asked. Still calling Kakashi sensei, but well, habits just die hard. Shuffling nervously with his feet, the war hero waited for an answer.
"Mah, of course Naruto, we just finished training." Kakashi answered.
The only thing that could be heard from Sasuke was a 'hn' with which he used the shunshin no jutsu to vanish.
When he was finally alone with his sensei- for the first time after the war ended- Naruto suddenly became very nervous, his hands got sweaty and he didn't know what to say.
Silence. It felt like hours, even if it probably were just a few seconds. But then Kakashi cleared his throat and asked: "Well Naruto, what did you want to talk about?"
"I… I want to see what's under that mask of yours, dattebayo!"
"But why would I just give in and show you?" Kakashi said with a smirk that could be seen through the cloth.
To that Naruto had no answer, and he knew that Kakashi had too realized that.
