Honestly this is a bit of an experiment, as I have a much longer fic in the works from Gale's PoV that goes through each year at Hogwarts, that will be around 40 chapters.

If you like this please review, I love to hear feedback, and also really want it as this is a mere fragment of something greater.

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or any of it's characters, however I do own Gale Lupin, so back off.

Draco knew he was enthralled moments after they had started to dance. He watched the honey haired boy, watching as he failed to follow Draco's lead, despite being hyper-focused. Gale stumbled over himself once again, after colliding with another man, who had sent them both a harsh glare.

Draco gave a light chuckle, watching as Gale's face flushed lightly, "We don't have to dance, you know?"

Gale swallowed nervously, and his attention wandered across the Hall, Draco could easily see his face get even redder, "I thought that was the point?" his honey coloured eyes darted up to observe Draco.

"Come on." Draco led him through the large crowd of dancing students, until they reached the refreshment table.

Draco moved away from Gale to grab them both a drink, and from the distance Draco was able to observe the nervous boy. Gale continuous brought his hand up as if to touch something on his shoulder, which Draco assumed was from many years of having his annoying cat perched there. He watched as another boy, a dirty blond with a muscular physique, approached Gale and tried to lead him onto the dance floor. Gale struggled against him, and it was fairly apparent that he was uncomfortable.

Draco quickly made his way over, "Hey, you prat, He doesn't want to dance with you." Draco took in Gale's increased breathing. "You can't just force someone to dance."

The boy sneered at him, "Well why would he want dance with a pureblooded Death Eater?"

Gale pushed past Draco once that left the boy's lips, "Shut up, Jackson, you can't judge him solely on his family, or else you no better than them." Gale exhaled a shaky breath, "Now leave, us alone."

The boy gave them both a once over before scoffing and moving away into the crowd. Gale shivered slightly, his whole body trembling, and without a thought Draco pulled him closer and held a drink out in front of the boy.

Gale took it with jittering hands and took a sip, then he glanced up at Draco, shyly, "Can we leave the Hall?"

Draco gave him a once over before nodding and guiding him out of the crowded hall. They both settled down on a bench just outside of the school and watched as snow slowly drifted down to cover the ground.

If this was what it was like to be with Gale, Draco hoped and prayed that they could be this, but he was not going to bring it up first.

"Draco?" Gale hesitantly pulled away from Draco's side to gaze up at him.

Draco couldn't find it within him to respond, instead he wrapped his arm around Gale's wait and pulled him even closer.

"I'm fine, Gale" he finally responded, watching Gale out of the corner of his eye.

He shook his head, and pulled away to stand, but he let his hands trail across Draco's arms, until they could clasp each others hands. Gale stared at him, until he brought his his steel grey eyes up to meet Gale's burning amber ones. Draco felt himself flinch and he trained his gaze onto the falling snow.

Gale let out a soft sigh, "Draco, follow me." but he didn't let go, instead Gale lightly pulled Draco along.

Thus Draco found himself being guided out across the snowy plains of the Hogwarts grounds. Gale easily navigated them through a small cluster of trees until they reached a clearing. Draco blinked when he was released, but Gale still moved across the clearing.

Draco felt himself move closer, but didn't get close enough to touch the honey haired boy, letting him continue with his unknown plan.

Gale seemed to take a breath, then turned on his heel and his posture bettered itself, his left arm settled behind his back. With his right arm outstretched Gale spoke, "I, Gale Remus Lupin, wish to enter a formal courtship with the one Draco Lucius Malfoy." There was a small pause then in a weaker voice he asked, "Do you accept?"

Draco moved forward without thought, and pulled the nervous boy in for a hug, nuzzling his face into his neck. Gale had surprised him, and the small part of him that still wanted his father's acceptance was screeching at him angrily, but he didn't care.

Draco pulled away slightly to stare directly into Gale's eyes, "I, Draco Lucius Malfoy, Accept your courtship."

Gale let out a nervous giggle, then flushed violently. Draco found himself chuckling at Gale's mortified expression, then he lifted Gale's chin. There was a pause until Gale moved forward, standing on tiptoe to reach, and kissed Draco.

It wasn't very good, but Draco had already decided that this was perfect. Gradually, Draco began to slowly lead them to a song only they could hear, ignoring the world around them. Right then was perfect, clumsy, but perfect, and they wanted it to last for as long as possible.
