Sometimes an idiot

---

Sweat trickled down his forehead and he felt like he couldn't breathe. His throat was raw, itchy and dry. He stared at the horror that lay in front of him. It was terrifying. It was scary. It was ugly. It was smelly. It was..

"A GYM UNIFORM!?!?!!?!?" Irvine Kinneas cried out loud, backing off. "Ohhhhh no, mister! You got me mixed up with the wrong person! I'm not the Irvine Kinneas that's been ditching your class! I'm..Harry...Harry McHair!" he quickly proclaimed before pointing at a random freshman. "HE'S Irvine Kinneas!"

"Kid, that's the worst excuse I've ever heard. Come on, now!" the gym teacher growled as he pulled Irvine by the back of his collar.

"NOOOO! Sefie! Squall! Zell! Rinny! SOMEONE!" he cried over dramatically as he was taken away to the P.E teacher's office.

Selphie Tilmitt giggled as she faced her male companions. "C'mon, guys! Let's go play something!"

"Like volleyball?" Rinoa suggested with a small grin on her face.

"Volleyball, Rin?"

"Yeah...BEACH volleyball." Rinoa giggled, twirling a piece of black hair around her index finger.

Zell looked at his friend confused. "Squall, I don't get it." he said in a childish way, although he didn't mean for it to sound like that.

Squall sighed. "Zell..oh forget it. I'm not playing." he said immediately.

"Squalllllllllllll!" the two girls whined. Squall turned around and glowered at them.

"What?"

"It won't be fun without you!"

"..Whatever..."

"Squall, don't make me pinch you." Selphie said half threateningly.

Squall rolled his eyes. "Selphie, I'm almost a grown man. Why would a pinch hurt m-OW!" he cried, recovering from the girl's pinch. He glared at her and he mumbled softly, "That hurt.."

"Oh, it did not! You're too sensitive, Squall!" Selphie said teasingly.

Squall rose an eyebrow. "No, you just don't realize how strong you are, Selph."

Selphie giggled. "You're a grown man, you can handle it." she said smiling as she playfully punched him.

"...Whatever..." came the mumbled response.

"Come on Squall, Selph, we gotta get to P.E! I heard Irvine's finally gonna join!" Zell chirped in.

"Alright..see ya, Rinny!" Selphie waved to her friend before walking off.

-After changing for Gym class-

"YO! I can walk, you know!!" came Zell's exclaimation.

"Selphie.." Squall grunted. "Let go.."

Selphie had a lock on her two friends collars on their P.E uniforms. She had hers on as well. She let go before giggling. "Last one to the door towards P.E class loves Seifer!" she said, giggling and bolting out the door.

Zell and Squall looked at each other momentarily before bolting towards the door.

"No way in hell will I ever love Seifer!!"

"...Move.." Squall said through clenched teeth, as they both tried to squeeze through the door. With a small shove of Zell, he ran though the door and caught up to Selphie.

Zell's face went pale. "Yo--...whatever..." he growled before running towards them.

"Alright class! Today, we play volleyball!" the P.E teacher shouted.

"Yes!" Selphie said quietly--well, what she thought was quietly.

Squall peered down at her for a minute before looking at Irvine, who was tugging at his P.E shirt. He had taken off the cowboy hat, of course.

"I want you all to fight the best damn volleyball game you ever played! Any questions?"

Zell raised his hand.

"Dincht!"

"Coach, not to be rude or anythin...but ya can't fight a soccer game." Zell said matter-of-factly.

"..." the teacher simply glared at Zell while snickers were heard in the background.

Squall, Irvine and Selphie gazed at each other while expressing pained looks. Their lovable friend was sometimes an idiot.
