Disclaimer: I don't own anything from the Twilight Saga except my own character.

My earliest memory of entering my new life was stumbling around a forest in America. It was shrouded in darkness and eerie calls filled the air. Trees blotted out the stars and the night was bitter.

The bite marks on my neck had healed; not even leaving a scar. Thank God. I'm not the one for injuries.

Fortunately, the trees began to part for me and I spotted flickering lights in the distance. They were like beacons of salvation.

Jesus Christ! I felt as though I was at the brink of death itself and I could still pluck out some corny phrase.

My vision was so much clearer now. It was as though someone had flicked the HD button on my eyes. I could regard every single snowflake in detail. I could zoom into every pine needle on a tree.

All had been painted in a new light and the colours were more vibrant.

My brain was urging me on towards the lights but my body was too weak to obey.

I collapsed to the ground, my head spinning.

I was desperate for sleep to take me away. Turns out, vampires can't sleep.

I blacked out; my last thought being that someone could take me away from this nightmare.
