Hello all my dear friends and readers! I have had this idea in my head for quite a while but just didn't know how to put it together. This will be one of my more angsty stories so I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing related to Vocaloid…
Just The Opposite
One eerily quiet evening, a young woman entered her bedroom and walked over to the full length mirror. Lifting up her nightdress, she rubbed her stomach and tears immediately began to form in her sky-blue eyes. But they were not tears of happiness or excitement, but rather sadness and regret.
The fact that she was pregnant should have been the happiest time of her life as everyone told her. But to her, it was just the opposite. She didn't want to have a baby, especially because it had little to no chance of survival.
Luka knew this wasn't supposed to happen nor did she have any plans.
You see, she was married to the love of her life, who happened to be a samurai, and it was against a samurai's code of honor to get a woman pregnant, let alone be in a relationship in the first place.
If that rule was ever broken, the woman, the samurai, and the baby will be killed.
However there were two choices: the samurai would have to fight for the woman and the baby (which had resulted in several deaths), or keep the woman by killing the baby himself.
When Luka found out she was pregnant she knew right away that she was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Even though she didn't want a baby, she couldn't let an innocent being get killed, but she didn't want her love to be killed either.
This or that?
Life or death?
Decisions, Decisions…
. . .
A young purple haired man entered a dark room and slammed his fist against a window.
What had he just done?
He turned against his own honor and impregnated a woman.
As a samurai, he no doubt was taught of the code involving women and infants.
Gakupo loved Luka to no end, but he did not want her to die nor did he want to kill the baby either. Ignoring the fair amount of blood that seeped out of his hand from punching the window, hits it again, breaking the glass and deepening the already deep cuts.
He wanted to stay with Luka and she wanted to stay with him, but they both knew a baby's life on the line wasn't worth it.
Squeezing his fist; causing more blood to run down his arm and stain his white sleep, Gakupo thought about his other option…
Should he fight?
Decisions, Decisions…
. . .
Luka walked away from the mirror and sat down on the floor. Reluctantly, she put her hands on her growing stomach and quickly felt a tiny kick. Looking down, Luka saw what looked like a tiny hand.
From a kick to a touch, Luka became even more uncertain.
She had to make her decision quickly…
What should she tell Gakupo?
The baby kicked again while Luka's decision once again shifted.
Finally, Luka made her decision and went to tell her mate, hoping she made the right choice.
. . .
"Luka, are you absolutely sure? Once the decision is made, I can't go back."
The young woman sighed and slowly nodded. "Yes, I am sure…"
Gakupo nodded himself. "Very well then; it will happen tonight at midnight."
"Alright…"
As soon as Luka left, Gakupo turned to the broken blood-stained window and thought about what she told him.
Several lives were put into her hands instead of his.
Before he knew it, the clock struck midnight and with a sigh and a heavy heart, took the katana and left the room.
"There's no turning back now." He kept repeating to himself.
"There's no turning back now…"
I decided to end it here to let your imagination tell you what Luka's decision was. Cruel maybe, but it was part of my plan.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it!
