Noelle Williams walked into the Black Penny after the retraining day shift and ordered water. The bar tender did not look surprised, which meant that he knew Noelle won the bottle of booze. He probably assumed that Noelle knew she would be drinking later. Noelle was not going to tell him otherwise.
When Frank called for attention, she twirled her way over to him, water forgotten. She took the prized bottle from his hands.
Noelle studied the bottle of booze that Frank handed her. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. So many people to mention, so many little, little…"
"Open up that scotch already, would ya?"
Noelle smiled and kissed Oliver on the cheek, one hand still on the bottle.
On the one hand she wanted to open the bottle and share with her fellow colleagues, on the other hand, she didn't know if she should be drinking (not that she wanted anyone to know yet). She really needed to talk to Nash.
Still, Noelle stayed in the thick of the action, handing out shots to her fellow officers, never taking a drink herself.
Finally, there was a lull in well wishers and she was able to catch Nash alone. "Can I talk to you for a second, outside?"
Traci looked startled but nodded. She motioned to Dov and Chris that she would be back son and then followed Noelle outside. When they were outside,Traci said "congratulations".
Noelle looked at "her rookie" and smiled. "Thank you. Let me ask you something. If a woman is pregnant, is it okay to drink every once in a while?"
Traci stared at her training officer for a long minute. "You're…"
Noelle shook her head. "It is a little too early to tell."
Traci sighed. "I didn't with Leo. As soon as I found out I stopped drinking. Maybe a doctor would tell you that a small dosage every once in a while won't do any harm, I don't know. But" she looked at her training officer "you want this so badly that I wouldn't risk it at all."
Noelle nodded and then received a shock when Traci reached out and hugged her. "If it is, I'm really happy for you and, I know that I'm a rookie but if you need anything…"
Noelle laughed. "In this case, I'd be the rookie and thank you for your offer."
The two made their way back inside and Traci noticed Noelle had a certain bounce in her step. I hope she is cuz she wants it really badly and she would be a great mother.
