Author's note: Ok so here is the third in the No Angel series. I'm not sure if there will be time to post anymore before school gets under way but I will do my best to get at least one more out soon. The rest will probably have to wait for winter break since I am traveling for Thanksgiving. Also I'd like to give a big thanks to my friend Eric who was my beta reader for this. It was a mess before he got a hold of it so thanks buddy! Next order of business is to say it has been forever since I have seen 1x04 so I apologize if I made any glaring mistakes. Lastly, I tried to capture Connor being dunk by making his thoughts a bit scattered. Not sure if i succeeded but oh well.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything, just playing with other people's toys.

and I'm soaking through and through
Then you hand me a towel
and all I see is you" Thank You by Dido
Thank You
Connor shuffled into Abby's flat closing the door behind him with a sigh. All he wanted to do was curl up and sleep away the rest of his life. Despite what Cutter had said, he knew this was all his fault. He had never meant any harm but that didn't change the fact that he was responsible. Connor never meant for bad things to happen they just did. At this point Connor's only wish was that when things did enviably go wrong, they would hurt him instead of the people around him. Connor did his best to lumber up the steps as they swam beneath his feet. He'd had too much to drink at the pub. He'd only meant to have just one drink, in remembrance of Tom. However one drink had turned into… well Connor wasn't sure how many. Connor had though that with so much alcohol in his system he should feel a bit better but he only felt worse. Now on top of everything else he was nauseous and he had a headache. It might not have been so bad if he had been able to get a taxi home when he was done getting wasted. Instead, he had been forced to walk the short distance back to the flat in the downpour that started shortly after he left the pub. Connor shouldn't have been surprised. It had just been that kind of day.
"You look awful." Abby said frowning as he reached the top of the stairs and she caught sight of him."Don't move." She added as she walked away. Connor decided that standing stationary might be a good idea. At least until the world stopped spinning. Abby returned a moment later with a towel. Connor blinked at her as she handed it to him. It was hard not to be stunned by her sometimes. She was just so beautiful. He stared at her for a few moments just trying to catalog every detail about her as best he could with his muddled mind. It wasn't until Abby shook his shoulder slightly that he snapped out of it.
"Connor, did you hear me?" he blinked at her again and she sighed. "I said go put on something dry. I'll make us some tea." She gave him a small push to get him moving and then headed to the kitchen. Connor dressed by rote, putting on the first things that his hands touched, and headed to the kitchen where Abby was pouring water into the tea kettle. She was so pleasantly distracting. When she was around it was hard to think of anything other than, well her. After a few minutes of waiting, she placed a steaming cup of tea into his hands. The smile on her face was filled with warmth, sympathy, and understanding. Instantly Connor felt some of his darker thoughts skitter away. He sighed taking a sip of the tea. It was a bit easier, sitting here with Abby, to believe that he would be okay as Cutter insisted he would be.
"And even if my house falls down,
I wouldn't have a clue
Because you're near me and
I want to thank you " Thank You by Dido
