It was dark and stormy when they finally found the hotel. The place was unusually overbooked for the season, and they considered themselves lucky to be able to obtain three rooms for the night.

By the time dinner ended and they made their way up to their floor, however, Orpherus and Ludwig discovered their good fortune had deteriorated. They had lost one room and gained a profusely embarrassed hotel manager instead.

Eduard was sleeping soundly in one of the now two available rooms, having been sent to bed earlier by a throbbing headache. There was one remaining room left, and Orpherus had his hand on the knob and his body halfway through the door.

Tension built rapidly as he and Ludwig stared. The blonde defiant and Ludwig with the look that said everything.

He was not going to share a room - a bed - with Orpherus - of all people - not unless his life depended on it.

So he turns his back on the blonde and moves towards the direction of the other bedroom. He makes it as far as three steps before he hears Orpherus speaking:

"Ed kicks."

Ludwig is stock still for a moment, eyes closed, cursing silently to the empty walls.
