This story idea came to me right after season three of Once Upon a Time ended. So I took the liberty of writing the continuation. [The only reason why it didn't get put up sooner is because it was not quite polished yet and I also got distracted.]
Already Home
Chapter one: Sparking a Realization
Emma's first official kiss with Killian was a nice touch to celebrating victory. But after a few prying eyes, she convinces Hook to come with her to a more secluded spot near the docks, and his ship.
"That's better." Emma said as she shut off the engine of her yellow car.
"Why are we here love?" Killian Jones was confused.
Emma turns, bright-eyed and almost glowing. "So we can finish where we left off." She leans into kiss Killian, and he follows.
Both yellow car doors close simultaneously.
"So, now that you've decided to stay, what are you going to do first?"
"Well, if there's one thing being on the run has taught me—it's the value of having someplace to call home," Emma said as she and Hook walked their way up to the second floor.
He was one step behind her on the stairs, dwelling on her words: the concept of having a Home. He realized then they both had that in common. Moreover, he was glad he was the one to help her see that Storybrooke was where she truly belonged.
"And where will this new home be?" He asked nonchalantly when they reached the top.
"I don't know. But," she motioned with her finger for him to come closer as they stood in between their rooms. Hook lessened the gap and leaned in to kiss her one last time for the night, he grabbed her by the waist so as not to let her go as easily as before. She put her arms around his neck and noticed how time seemed to slow down now that they were together.
When they finally did pull away from each other, Swan finished the rest of that sentence, "We'll talk about it tomorrow. With Henry, of course."
"Of course. Tomorrow then. Good night Swan."
"Night."
She still had a big smile on when she opened her door. At that time, Henry was pressed to the inside of the door to hear Emma's conversation with Hook. So when the door was opening, he lunged into the nearest seat which happened to be a bar stool and covered his own smiling face in his story book, Once Upon a Time.
"Hey kid, what's up?"
"Nothing, just waiting for you to come back."
"Oh yeah? What story are you reading?"
"Well, it's about two people who go on an adventure together. The guy really likes the girl but she doesn't really care. Later on, he helps her realize something she didn't want to see before—and she starts to like him too." He shrugs.
"You know," suspicion grew over her. "I think you and I know the same story."
"Does it end with us looking for a house together?"
"You little snoop! I knew I heard someone's feet scrambling around before I opened the door. But no, Henry. Our story doesn't end there, it's just getting started."
