Six! I'm at six! Hopefully, I don't skip over any on accident...
Connor had to hold back a sob while waiting for bedtime. He and Amaya had a fight today. She would have hit him if the teacher hadn't come. But her words were blows themselves.
'I hate you!'
'I never want to see you again!'
'I wish I wasn't friends with you!'
The last one made tears slip down his face. He didn't dare make any noise least his parents come and talk to him.
Finally, it was bedtime. He carefully fingered his bracelet wrapped around his wrist and let it turn him into Catboy. He immediately was in the PJ Masks headquarters. Gekko was next, followed by... Owlette. Catboy felt his heart sink. She glanced at him before only talking to Gekko as if he wasn't even there. Catboy had enough. He turned his back and walked out of the tower.
"Catboy! Wait!" Gekko called after him.
But Catboy didn't stop running or turn around. He kept running until he was deep in the forest next to the city. It was then when he let the dam break and the tears fell. Crystal clear, they fell into the grass and on the boy's lap. His transformation wavered, but he paid no mind to it. He didn't even look up when he heard footsteps.
~!~
To see Catboy was a shock to Romeo, Lunagirl, and Night Ninja. He was never far from his friends, nor was he ever this far in the forest.
"Kitty cat? What are you doing out here?" Romeo asked.
The boy looked up at his words and the three villains gasped. His face was pale and his cheeks pink. His eyes were puffy and red from crying, tears still falling down his face.
"What happened?" Lunagirl asked softly.
Catboy looked away before biting his lip. Night Ninja surged forward and pulled the boy into a hug. He needed it, they could tell. Finally, he wiped his face of the tear tracks and snot.
"S-sorry 'bout that," Catboy murmured.
"What are you sorry for? It's not your fault," Night Ninja said.
"What happened?" Lunagirl asked again.
Catboy looked back at his knees and began his tale.
"I had a fight with Owlette."
"That's it?" Romeo asked. "Just say you're sorry!"
"It's not that simple!"
The other three took a step back. Catboy took a shaky breath and began again.
"She said she hated me, said she never wanted to see me again. Told me that she wished we weren't friends. And I believe her. If the teacher hadn't come when he did, she would have slapped me."
Lunagirl gasped out loud while Night Ninja tightened the arm that was around the boy's shoulders. Romeo looked like he was mad. Mad at Owlette.
"Let us talk to her," Romeo suggested as Gekko ran up to them. He looked like he wanted to say something, but left it be. He merely nodded at the three villains in gratitude and went up to Catboy slowly as to not startle the older boy.
"Catboy? It's me, Gekko," Gekko murmured.
"I know," Catboy said back just as soft.
Gekko came forward and let Catboy rest his head on his shoulder. Night Ninja stayed with the other two while Lunagirl and Romeo went to go talk to Owlette.
"She said she regretted what she said," Gekko said.
"She did?" Catboy sounded hopeful and it broke Night Ninja's heart.
"Yeah. She wasn't sure what came over her."
"Oh."
Catboy sat in the comfort of the other two boys.
"By the way, what did you say that made her mad?" Gekko asked.
"I didn't say anything. It was all Cameron, but she thought it was me," Catboy responded.
"Well, what did he say?"
Catboy mumbled his answer.
"What? Didn't quite catch that," Night Ninja teased.
"I said 'he said she sucked at flying'!"
This made Night Ninja laugh.
By the end of the night, Amaya and Connor had made up and were friends again. And she promised not to jump to conclusions.
It was OOC, I get it! But I don't care. Fight me.
