insert Final Fantasy winning song here My first fanfic! (Well, on fanfiction of course.) Let me just…absorb this moment. Ok, I think I'm good. I know this is a little cliché, and I know I have a bad title. I'm just…not good with titles. :sweatdrops: All and every review is appreciated. I wrote this while watching anime, so there might be a few grammatical errors too…heh.
For Saiyuki fans – yes, I do hope to write a Sanzo x Goku fanfic, and fairly soon. Another oneshot. Aren't you excited? Also, I'm going to try and get my favorite Saiyuki pairings and why I like them up this week. Most of my stories will probably be oneshots…because of two main reasons. One, I'm lazy. Two, I'm afraid that if I start a story with multiple chapters, I'll get halfway through and not want to continue, and I wouldn't do that to you guys. Girls. People of varying ages and genders.
Disclaimer: …ok. Yeah. I don't own anything. Happy now?

"There, there," Talho cooed. A tiny face peered up at her from the mass of blankets, two green eyes and a topping of grey hair. The baby giggled, wrapping tiny fingers around Talho's thumb. Gently she pulled the child close, cradling him close to her heart.
She was aboard the Gekko, in her and Holland's room, lying on the bed. Holland was fast asleep on the couch, exhausted after the baby had continuously woken up during the night and cried.
Talho was tired as well, but she wanted these few quiet moments with her child. Strange, how motherhood had changed her. Love for Holland had not lessened, but rather she shared it equally with this life in her arms. She knew that Holland felt the same, that he would do anything for this child. Their child, she thought wonderingly, happily, lovingly.
Holland stirred, rolling over and promptly falling off the couch. Blearily he sat up, rubbing sleep-rimmed eyes, blinking, and looking adorable, thought Talho. The baby glanced over at him, but did not begin crying, fortunately. Sleepily, his miniature eyes closed. Talho breathed a mental sigh of relief. She loved him to pieces, but she had never known that such a small creature could produce such a loud and annoying noise.
Holland came to his feet and stumbled over to her, pausing just long enough to tenderly kiss Talho's forehead. Sinking down next to her, he ran a hand through already messy grey locks. They were silent for a moment, happy just being in the other's presence.
"It's been a year," Holland said abruptly, softly. "Since…" He trailed off.
"To the day, huh?" murmured Talho. "It doesn't seem like it's been that long."
"Yeah," Holland agreed. "I bet they're having a better time then us." The baby stirred, as though it knew it was being talked about.
"They've got each other," was Talho's reply, sensing that the two's final fate was weighing on her beloved's mind. "In the end, isn't that what matters most? And as long as we remember them, they're never truly gone."
Holland sighed. "Yeah…"
Talho reached one hand out and touched Holland's cheek. When he turned to look at her, she pressed her lips to his. They pulled apart, but stayed close enough that they could feel the other's warm lingering breath.
"Besides," whispered Talho, "we've got our own little Renton right here."
As one, they turned to look at the child nestled in Talho's arms.
A smile touched Holland's lips.
