Kisscam
Danny didn't exactly know how he got into this predicament in the first place. At the moment all he remembered was Sam inviting him and Tucker to today's baseball game. After that it was all like a dream or a daze; Danny wasn't much of a sports person. Now it was even worse, it still felt like a dream but he was very much aware of everything that was going on: his sweaty palms and his skyrocketing nervousness. All eyes on the stadium were on the huge screen near the front, it was Danny Sam on the kisscam.
Ah yes, the kisscam. Right now Danny decided it was a very, very evil thing. Indeed it was, it scanned the crowd in all its heart framed glory searching for couples, and when it landed on one, they had an obligation to pretty much full on make-out on the spot, with everybody watching.
It so very conveniently landed right on Danny and Sam.
It was quite humiliating, to put it lightly. Not only did the entire population in Amity Park think they were a couple, but freaking cameramen thought so, too! Now they had to kiss in public!! Sure they could call it a fake-out make-out later, but Tucker and God knows how many other people would tease them mercilessly and never let them hear the end of it. They already had the reputation for being "lovebirds", they didn't need any more torture. Not to mention that it would make their friendship more awkward than it already was.
With his heart pounding away in his ears, Danny briefly glanced at the screen, hoping that the camera had moved on to another couple.
Nope, still on 'em.
Dammit, he thought, this is just fan-freaking- tastic.
Danny looked at Sam, his face burning. She had a blush on her face as well. So she was just as humiliated as he was, no biggie.
He sighed.
They looked each other in the eyes.
He sighed again.
They could vaguely hear Tucker and everyone else cheering them on; all they were aware of was each other.
It's now or never.
That was his final thought before he made the incredibly life-altering decision that he would look back to and laugh years from now.
It was an innocent and sweet kiss, the kind that very well might be your first. It was nothing compared to the other couples on the kisscam, who may as well been trying out for a porno. No, no, this was a very cute kiss, the one that people 'awwed' to.
Not really knowing where to put his hands, Danny put them on the part of her arms just above her elbows. Sam, being just as naïve and inexperienced as Danny laid her hands flat in his chest, being content to just putting them somewhere.
They pulled away, only to find that the kisscam had moved on to another couple. With tingling lips and flushed faces, they both jumped as they heard Tucker speak up.
"Wow, one minute and six seconds. You lovebirds really have to practice making out longer." teased Tucker.
Danny and Sam glared.
"HA! You didn't deny the lovebirds comment!"
"Yeah, but we didn't confirm it, either," argued Sam.
Tucker rolled his eyes. "Another fake-out make-out and they're still in denial" he muttered under his breath while he resumed playing with his PDA.
Danny awkwardly looked at Sam as if asking, "did you feel it?"
Sam gave an understanding smile as they timidly held hands.
So for the rest of the game, the two lovebirds gradually got closer until they cuddled against each other and Tucker got enough blackmail to last for about two years. Everybody wins.
A/N: So…like it? Love it? Hate it? How was it for my first romance fic? Was it good? Did it suck? PLEASE TELL ME!
