It was dark… There was nothing to be seen, however if within close range, trees were evidently noted. The trees were tall, and thick. Such things were best suited to a forest environment.

Is that where she was? Within the dense confines of a forest?

Slowly lifting her head, Millie looked towards the sky. Surprised when the softness of rain, flittered upon her face. The cold weather, casting a slight fog over the apparent forest.

Confusion crossed her features, and Millie looked around her. Taking in the darkness, feelings of fear jabbing into her like a blade.

Taking a deep intake of air, Millie hesitantly took a step forward. Wondering how she could leave this place as soon as possible.

She trailed throughout the forest, her breath showing in the night air. Yet, with how it proved to be a cool night, Millie could not feel the biting chill. It unnerved her.

Finding that the trees were thinning, Millie stepped out from the tree-line and into a clearing. A sense of worry filling her.

Millie warily stepped further into the clearing. Her eyes, slowly taking in the outline of a rather large tree. To which, stood suspiciously bang-smack in the middle of the uncovered area.

She approached the tree warily. Seeing as it was the only thing she could rely on at this current moment. How had she waltzed her way into this predicament in the first place?

Looking towards the tree, Millie silently thought; that she could possibly scale it. Perhaps she could see more of her surroundings when she reached the top?

Her thoughts were cut short, when a large gust of wind blew around her. The breeze, carrying along a sound.

Drums.

A slow, yet firm beat.

Boom.

Boom.

Boom.

The sound seemed dangerous, and Millie felt the urgent need to hide. She was not safe out here, in the clearing.

Taking a few steps back from the tree, Millie turned around and quickened her pace. She needed to find refuge back in the trees.

However, before she could take a mere three steps. A scream echoed throughout the forest.

Millie jumped, and bit down on her tongue to control the need to let out a shriek of her own.

The scream sounded like it belonged to another girl… Someone, probably about her age, if not younger.

The tight scream filled the air for a few more seconds before…

Silence.

Nothing.
