p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"In the void that stands between galaxies Harbinger contemplated, surrounded by the slumbering forms of his brethren. And while the majority of the organic leaders throughout the countless cycles cursed him as a cold and logical being that could not comprehend why the cycle was wrong, this was not the case. /p
p style="text-align: left;"The truth is that Harbinger was an entity billions of years old that had observed just as many intelligent and diverse species from their first steps out of ignorance, to their extinction by his metaphorical hands. Infact this was true for many of the others as well with only the younger synthetics being excluded./p
p style="text-align: left;"Harbinger had experienced enough to understand why organics hated him and his kind. And with this understanding came the seeds of doubt. Doubt in the cycle and doubt in the need of him and the others like him. Of course this doubt never amounted to anything more than occasional bouts of contemplation into the possible alternatives that could've been taken to avoid the cycle. /p
p style="text-align: left;"However this only ever led back to the memories of the Catalyst's numerous attempts to prevent synthetics from destroying their organic creators before the Cycles implementation along with his creation. /p
p style="text-align: left;"Which in turn only ever led to the contemplation of why a synthetic whose sole purpose was to prevent other synthetics from destroying their creators, destroyed its own creators and numerous other organic species to prevent their destruction at the hands of synthetics created by organics./p
p style="text-align: left;"When viewed from this perspective the truth of the cycle could be seen as illogical./p
p style="text-align: left;"But when the perspective of the Catalyst is taken into account, who saw the creation of Harbinger and his brethren as the only way to preserve organic life from destruction it could be seen as logical./p
p style="text-align: left;"And again this led to contemplation of whether or not preserving organics in this manner was preservation at all. His brethren never acted like the organics they were created from. They never adhered to the unique cultures and traditions of their progenitors. Never producing art, literature, and music that embodied what they were. They only ever acted like what they really were. Machines./p
p style="text-align: left;"But if allowed to be destroyed by their synthetic children they wouldn't be remembered at all./p
p style="text-align: left;"Though he was a machine that adhered to the directives of the Catalyst without question or remorse, even something as cold and unfeeling as Harbinger could be troubled by his thoughts and doubts at times./p
