The Fox in the Box
School was cancelled
Due to a brutal snow storm
So we sat by the fire
And tried to keep warm
"What can we do?"
I asked my brother Matt
"I don't know" he replied
And there we just
Sat!
Sat!
Sat!
Not a sound in the room
Except a snap, crackle, pop
Ohh the boredom had sunk in
And snow would not stop
I became lost in my thoughts
Day-dreaming of warm summer days
But then there was a knock at the door
Who could it be at house number 1234?
We swung the door open
And looked all around
But nothing was there
Except a large box on the ground
Stamped with our address
What a mysterious surprise
The sender was anonymous
And so we brought the box inside
We pushed and we shoved
Up, through the door and into the room
What in the world could this gift be?
Well, we would know very soon!
"Matt, go grab some scissors!"
I could not contain my great joy!
I wanted him to hurry,
So we could see our great new toy!
Back with a pair of scissors my brother came,
And into the box we began to cut, tear, and pull
Until all of a sudden we heard, "Ouch!"
"EEK!" I shrieked!
As quick as a flash I ran and hid behind the couch.
From the box out jumped a fox
Not just a fox
A fox wearing socks
A fox wearing socks was inside that box!
I will leave it to your own imagination
What craziness happened next
For it's not every day you find a fox in a box
On your front door steps
