chapter one.
i walked along the road leading to Stephan's house. I could have walked blindfolded, i'de been there so many times before. I stood at the door and before i knocked Damon answered the door.
''Elena..What a nice surprise'' he said while smiling.
''Damon, is Stephan here?'' i said with fright in my tone. I looked around the room to see if i could see Stephan.
''He's in his room..''. I tried to walk past Damon but he steped in my way, making me trip. Damon, of course, grabbed me just before i hit off of the stone ground.
''Elena, are you ok?''Stephan said with frantic worry.
''She's fine..she just fell''Damon said with a smile in with voice.
i brushed my jeans and smiled at Stephan. Nothing could ruin tonight, not even Damon. Tonight was our one year anniversary. Stephan took me by the hand and led me up the stairs.
''Bye Damon'' I said while smiling.
''stephan, i have your present''I said while ratteling a little box in my hand. He looked into my eyes and smiled.
''I also have yours'' When he talked he always made me happy and excited. I walked over to his bed and just flopped down and waited for him.
''Open your's first'' He said with slight delight. I took the neatly wrapped box from his hands and slowly unwrapped it.
i shook the box. I had no idea what it could be.
I lifted the lid from the box and there sitting nestled between sugarheart paper was a large key.
''A key? What for?'' I said while looking at every angle of it.
''It's a key to the house..''He stopped to juge my reaction.
''You want me to move in with you..what about Damon?''
''Don't worry about him..he's leaving for a while to live in Florida with some..friends''He smiled and said''so,Elena would you move into this old house with me?''I smiled and hugged him.
I whispered into his ear softly''Of course, i'de love to''.
''Ok,ok,ok now open mine''
Stephan gently opened the wrapping on the box and opened the lid. Inside there was a post card from Pheonix and on the back it said 'the perfect holiday place. Where we can be together with no one else around'.
Stephan's eyebrow rose''A post card?''He said while lightly chuckling.
''No silly, I was rumeging through my mum and dads old stuff and found a picture of them infront of a beach house, turns out they had bought it and never used it..so i was wondering if you'de like to go there this summer?''I said smiling.
''hmm..no one else around? just us? i like the sound of that''He walked over to me and lifted me easily onto the bed.
