an: So... I hadn't written in a looong time and felt like I needed to, and this is what happened. I don't particularly think it's hilarious, but it amused me, and I hope it amuses you. I'm not sure when I'll get around to writing more, as my kids spilled yogurt on my keyboard, and now the only way to get the "e" key to work is by copying it and hitting "Ctrl+v" every time I need it (which, as you can see, is a LOT). Naruto watched as Sakura sank her teeth into a ripe, juicy plum, completely oblivious to her audience. As the tight purple skin burst, juice spilled over her perfectly shaped pink lips, dripping down her chin before she brushed it away with her fingertips. She frowned a little, tiny creases appearing between her slender eyebrows, as she realized she had no napkin for her hand. Then, with a shrug to herself, she popped the fingers into her mouth and licked them clean.

A summer breeze blew gently across her face, pushing her hair back with careful caresses. Sakura lifted the fruit to her lips, licking up some juice that was dripping down the side and sucking gently at its flesh before taking another delicate bite. Naruto marveled at the contrast the dark plum made against her flawless, creamy skin, wishing he was that little drop of juice that escaped her tongue and lingered at the corner of her mouth.

Unaware of the effect she was having on her teammate, Sakura leaned back on an elbow and watched the fluffy clouds pass lazily by overhead. Her green eyes seemed to sparkle in the sunlight as Naruto tried to find the perfect name for their color. Aquamarine? Emerald? Sea green? In the end, he decided it really didn't matter; they were the most beautiful eyes he'd ever seen, even if their color turned out to be something called "elephant snot green".

Deciding her elbow was uncomfortable, Sakura laid back fully against the grass that covered the sunny meadow they'd stopped in, knees raised to keep the prickly stems from tickling her bare legs. Her hair splayed out about her head like a pink halo, adding to her sometimes misleading aura of gentleness. Her blond teammate's eyes grew dreamy as he imagined her head resting in his lap while he ran his fingers through that soft hair as blushing cherry blossoms floated down from above to cover them in their sweet fragrance.

The girl closed her eyes against the bright summer sky as she brought the plum up to her lips again to take another bite, and Naruto nearly moaned, picturing her lips pressed against his instead. He stared, unable to take his eyes away as she nibbled the succulent fruit, completely failing to take note of the fact that Sasuke had walked up next to him. The other boy may have even said something, but Naruto was enraptured.

What he did notice – what he could hardly fail to miss, in fact – was when Sasuke punched him in the side of the head and walked off. As he fell over, dazed and semiconscious, he heard one thing for sure.

"Idiot."

And he could have sworn he heard Sasuke roll his eyes.

Kakashi sat on a nearby tree branch, smirking a tiny smirk to himself behind his mysterious mask as he simply turned another page in his infamous book.

For her part, Sakura did roll her eyes, thinking to herself with as much exasperation as she could muster on so nice a day, 'Boys!'
