Lover's Conflict

It was fall and the trees around the school where showing their true colors

of yellow, orange, brown, and red. The leaves falling from the trees and

collecting on the ground created a work of natural art. He couldn't explain

why he looked at the world through an artist's eye, so instead he showed

people how he took the world through his painting. His name was Gaara.

School was over, and Gaara was sitting in the window of the art room with a

gentle breeze blowing through his hair.

*Flash back.* "I like the way you perceive the world, it's so unique, and

no one else could describe the beauty of the world like you do. I envy that,

and I just wanted to let you know that because you always looked so sad,

I thought it might cheer you up to hear how I feel about you."

*Flash back ends.*

Gaara laughs. "Why would you envy the way I see things, it's so stupid.

There's nothing in my life that you should envy, and I would appreciate it if

you would leave me alone."

On the ground below the window where Gaara was, he noticed something

going on. A person was holding Lee's arm behind his back as if about to

break it.

"Where's the money!" The person yelled enraged at Lee.

"I told you, I don't have it, I had to spend it on food so I could eat!" Lee

grunts in pain, and Gaara realizes what's going on.

Without hesitating to think, he jumps out the window and lands on the ground in front of Paka. (Paka is the leader of a gang of bullies that pick on certain people because they're different.)

Paka turns around to see Gaara. "Ah, Gaara, how nice to see you again." He

smiles.

Gaara gets irritated at the sound of his voice. "Tch, whatever."

Lee looks confused at what just happened.

"Who is he and why is he defending me? No one cares about me, so why should he!"

Gaara looks angrily at Paka.

"Why don't you just leave him alone."Paka's hands clench into fists, trying to control his anger. "What's it to you?" He hits the top of Lee's head, and Gaara became mad as his face scrunched.

"Look, I don't care who it is, I hate people like you who go around picking

on the people like him, don't they already have enough problems? They

don't need this! Because of people like you, people like him-" He points to

Lee. "-are killing themselves every day because they have no one to lean

on!"

Gaara's face is so scrunched it looks like it could burst with anger.

Hearing those words Lee couldn't help but cry, and pulling his knees to his

chest and leaning his head on them he did so. Paka's not even in the mood to torture Lee any more.

He just walks away with the other gang members following him "Tch, next time you wont get off so easy."

Gaara looks down at the person he saved and gives a confused smile, and

even though Gaara couldn't see, Lee smiled gives a hmph and walks away, leaving Lee all alone. Lee looks up, seeing that his hero is gone, and he gets up and starts to walk home. "

He defended me, but why? I never had any one protect me like that, and he

looks so sad... I wonder if the two of us have more in common than I could

ever know."

*Not knowing what to expect or what lies on the road ahead, the two with

totally different pasts just might have the same future. If you want to see

what happens next, then please wait for the next chapter. Thank you for

reading, I really appreciate it.*
