Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto

A/N:

This is dedicated-ish to the same friend, whose birthday prompted me to create this account and post a fic for her birthday. Yes, she suggested I write crack. Because I seriously doubt Romance/Action etc. are my avenues. (Let's just say I was told my 'fight scenes' were kind of fail). But then again, this isn't actually crack.

For now this shall be a one-shot, but I might upload more chapters if anything comes to mind!

Do review if you would like to , polite/constructive criticism is welcome!

Hope you enjoy the story (despite it being not that enjoyable)

Papercut!

A thorn in his flesh, that's what it was.

Uzumaki Naruto stared at the red scrawls on his term paper, which formed the numbers that were supposed to be his marks.

The big, fat, number 58 stared right back at him.

"Noooo!" He hollered animatedly, clutching his head full of tousled honey-blond hair as he attempted to rip the paper in half. Thankfully a certain calm classmate of his had taken the liberty to stop him before he actually did so.

Said classmate of his removed the paper from his grasp swiftly and set it down on the table, stating, "Do that and you're going to get detention class again, dobe."

Naruto glared at Sasuke from the corners of his eyes. "You say that 'cos you never get that close to failing!" Sasuke rolled his eyes at his friend's childish demeanour while Sakura walked over, having heard the commotion.

"Sasuke's right, Naruto. You don't need another detention class. Plus, you're not the only one who didn't do well on this term's English Paper."

The blonde seemed to brighten slightly, "Really? How did you fare?"

"Oh, uh…" Sakura was taken aback by the question, and replied sheepishly, "I got a…"

Large blue eyes looked up at her expectantly.

Her response was barely audible.

"… 89?!" The ever over-reactive Naruto blanched and Sasuke, who now leaned against the classroom wall, appeared unimpressed. He had scored a 98 of course, nothing less was expected of an Uchiha.

Harrumphing loudly, Naruto folded his arms across his chest and spat, "Well, thanks a lot, Sakura. So much for a 'low score'."

"We're the only ones left in class already. Are you guys coming for lunch or not?" Sasuke scowled. He was hungry and didn't need to listen to Naruto's ranting on an empty stomach.

"Yeah, yeah, we're coming."

Naruto swiped the paper from the table, only to yelp and drop it just as quickly.

His raven-haired friend was about to lose his cool. "Now what, dobe?"

Sakura stared at the blood that appeared along the wound on Naruto's finger.

"Definitely a paper cut."

"Darned paper!"

Somewhere in the Akatsuki's hideout, Konan sneezed.
