"Ruby? Why do you want us to win?"

He had asked me that so nonchalantly that it startled me a bit. I glanced over at him, my head tilted as I surveyed him. He wanted to know, but I couldn't tell him the truth. At least not all of it. He would never believe me, in the end. He didn't remember, neither of them did. They were focused on the here and now, not lives passed so long ago.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm not like them…"

I know you. I've know you forever now. I have waited lifetime after lifetime to find you both again. I sold my soul to find you, to see your eyes blaze with anger and your deadly smirk. Stoic, I called you. How cute. But that wasn't right. Those looks were Damien, pure Damien. No…you were Dean here. Dean. Samson, no Sam. Samuel. Different. You were both so different here, and yet almost the same.

"I don't know why. I wish I was, but I'm not."

If I was like them, I wouldn't ache this way. I wouldn't want to walk forward and lay my head on your shoulder. My eyes wouldn't fill up with tears everytime I spoke with Sams…Sam. He was Sam here.

I turned my head away, not wanting him to see. He could always read me through my eyes, before that damned demon took him away from me. And Samson left soon after, the heartbreak too much for him. I was left alone, going insane with grief.

"I remember what it's like."

"What what's like?"

Missing you. Holding you. Loving you. Dying inside. Waking up in flames. Wishing. Crying. Breathing. Grieving. Fighting my way through hell along side a man who should have been my enemy, but just wanted to see his two sons. Seeing you again. And wishing I was dead. I was a demon now. I am a demon.

I have no idea what this is! I just watched this episode and for some reason, just the way Ruby interacted with him, through me off a little bit. So I wrote this. I have no clue why.
